Took Frankie Raso to VCAT for attempting to increase costs from an agreed quote (he inspected the property) When we refused, he stopped the job and left a huge mess in our yard. We were awarded our deposit back on VCAT ref: D772/2012. Do not use them!!

In summary:
1. his crossover work didn' pass council inspection and he refused to fix it. I spent 2000 extra to find another concretor to fix it.
2. He promised to build 4.2m crossover, instead what he actually did was 4.0m, so 20cm less.
3. The exposed driveway looked smoky because he didn't do the sealing properly
4. Chemical used on driveway damaged the footpath, footpath was patchy.
Avoid this guy!!

In detail:
He gave me a discounted quote because he had one job canceled in that week and needed to fill it in. But his initial measure was not right and also he started the job very rushly without confirming the area and color.

After he started the job, we pointed out it was too small. He said in a very emotional way that he would need to requote the whole job, which invalidated the initial quote. It put us in a very disadvantaged status because he already started the job and did the excavation. In the end, we agreed to his proposal to pay 800 more for him to finish the job.

He finished the job and took the cash.

The crossover didn't pass council inspection. He blamed me to give him headache and refused to come back to fix it. I had to spend 2000 to fix it. After a lengthy attempt to contact him, he eventually offered 600 for refund. It was very stressful to deal with him because after taking the money, he rarely responds to your messages.

Approximate cost: $8300

We used frankie from Fine Art just recently after we had a broken pipe under our concrete path . Frankie remove all the of the old pathways concrete , cleaned up the surrounding area and we now have a brand new beautiful path . I found Frankie to be professional and respectful to our home .
Thanks again Frankie , I'd happily recommend you to friends and family .

Awesome!!! I used Fine Art for a residential slab last year .
Frankie was professional , and absolutely brilliant when issues arose from no fault of fine art .
frank worked in with our builder to ensure no extra stress on us and the job was still finished to schedule even when there was so much more work to be done with new engineering requirements. I can't thank Frankie and the boys from fine art enough.

Fabulous! Frankie and his team are genuine and professional and did a brilliant job replacing our driveway. What an amazing transformation - we're very happy. Thoroughly recommend this business to anyone considering getting any concreting work done.

Quoted for an exposed aggregate driveway and pathways all around house...also standard concrete for the shed. Started work then stated that prices need to be increased due to unforeseen circumstances even though he did a site inspect prior to quoting. We refused to pay the extra he refused to continue work...Took to VCAT to get our deposit back (which was 8,500 - 50%), won but still struggling to get the amount back to this day.

Approximate cost: $17000

By far the worst concreting business going around. I would have given 0 stars but am not able to. We wanted a dark coloured exposed aggregate driveway to go with our new house. The driveway turned out patchy, uneven, the thickness varies and it started cracking within a few month of being completed. VCAT ordered Fine Art Concreting to pay us $10,000 so that we could get a new driveway however that was 2 years ago now and we haven't seen a cent. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT use this company. Unfortunately, we had to learn the hard way.

Approximate cost: $6500

Hi simoneb13, it has been a couple of years. Wonder if you got your money back. Have you tried to go to Magistrates Court of Victoria to enforce it?

Hi spacemacs. Yes, we did end up getting out money back! We had to get a lawyer and after a couple of attempts to get him to pay the money back, we submitted paperwork to wind up his company. He eventually paid after we did that.

Hi simoneb13, I'm sooo glad to hear from you that it finally works out for you. I understand it must be a hard time in the process. Thanks again for your message. It gave me confidence in dealing with him in my current situation.

Got the driveway done in November 2012. I now have a driveway that is uneven, has troweling marks across it and slight undulations running from side to side. The exposed aggrigate is inconsistent and subsequently my driveway is patchy, some areas exposed and some are not. When it was sealed, the sealing machine leaked and I have a puddle of set sealant in the middle top of my driveway. There was no hole drilled for my gate latch and no end piece applied to the drain in front of my garage. I have spent $10,000 on a driveway disaster.

Four phone calls over the following 6 months and nothing has been done. The company will not return my calls. I'm not suggesting you don't use his services - just read my blurb and make your own decision

Approximate cost: $10000
