I will usually receive a $100 voucher each year for using my Fly buys card throughout the year. Easy

Approximate cost: $0

Only useful if you spend lots of money at large retailers. Then you get like a $10 toaster or something at the end. They've expired and its pointless for me. I'd rather spend my money of smaller and cheaper retailers which will save me more money in the long run.

I have been a flybuys member for over 5 years. I didn't start receiving rewards until last year or the year before because they started offering gift cards in exchange for flybuy points. I have now received over four $20 coles gift cards and I am going to stay a member for as long as I can.

I already shop at the places on the list, but now I get rewarded for it. It is so handy to have the help of the gift card especially around Christmas time.

quite a good way of encouraging customers to spend to get points to reach the point where they can receive an award

I personally find flybuys is worthless, you rarely accumulate enough points to buy anything before your points start to expire, while giving valuable information about your purchases and interests to statistical businesses.

I have been with Flybuys since they started back in the '90's. I get a reward every few years and all i do is shop at Coles, Kmart, Target etc, get petrol from Coles Express, get tyres from Kmart Tyre & Auto, buy alcohol from Liquorland etc, etc.
It's not hard. I don't go out of my way to shop at these stores, but i do check if i can purchase the items i want from those stores. It eventually becomes a habit to do so.
If i every get a reminder to say points are about to expire, I go through the catalogue and see what i can get. A few months ago i got a Phillips shower radio. About 3yrs ago i got tickets to theme parks in Qld. Even if i only spend $5, i still use my card. It all adds up in the end.
My partner has a card and so do both my parents. It all helps.

Flybuys like many other points based reward system is not very useful. It is so hard to earn an actual reward despite hundreds of dollars spent! Sometimes I don't even bother bringing the card out because I know it is pointless.
