I have always had an extremely pleasing experience shopping at Games Paradise. Barring the crotchy older woman who is sometimes running the shop the staff are always helpful and attentive, giving you the information you need to make your purchase but not hassling or crowding you.

However, if the middle-aged lady IS in the shop, don't loiter and look, she readily assumes that you are attempting to shop lift and reacts as such. The only smear on an otherwise excellent shop.

I will try to be honest and fair, presenting the facts of my experience and refraining from exaggeration due to emotion nor desire to emphasise too much of what is already clear, but unfortunately I must give a low rating.

I usually only write reviews if I am highly disappointed by a service or overwhelmingly happy about it.
This review is based on the website sales.
I will try to be concise and to the point.

Item ordered 27th April.

Website says that it takes 1-5 Working Days to complete the order to ship.

They said they handed it to Fastway Couriers on the 6th of may, 6 working days later.
(Bad. Service not as advertised)

Called about 6 times, on the last time they changed their minds and said it was not by fastway.

Item finally arrived 10th May, the maximum time expected for waiting.

...One of the items was the wrong item. (Gave me the expansion, I ordered the base game)

Asked for compensation for the trouble and time spent calling and disputing.
(Good as they were willing to resolve the problem, also despite the poor service the customer relations in my experience was very friendly. Take into account that I have called them approximately 20-30 times with no exaggeration.)

They offered to give two free games. (Good)

Every time I called they said "We'll send it tomorrow" or "Should arrive by next week"

...a few weeks later, it still has not arrived.

Time goes by and now it is 18th of July and I finally received the delivery service "Sorry we missed you card". This is no issue because it indicates that Games Paradise has indeed sent something, whether it be the package or not and I simply need to arrange to collect it.

Therefore
Pros:
1) They have great prices
2) They are very friendly (at least in my experience, doesn't seem to be the case for others, especially in store customers.)
3) They do their best to fix their mistakes (see below)

Cons:
1) The time and effort wasted on calls is not worth the low prices
2) While they try to fix mistakes, they take unreasonably long to do so.
3) They make promises they can easily keep and yet are mysteriously unable to do so, alternatively they make promises they shouldn't make. E.g time to begin delivery, time delivery will arrive both officially from time of order and every time you call them to see what is happening.

Personal verdict:
I will never shop here again unless it is extraordinarily cheap or they reflect on their policies and practices as a service. I will warn any friends who consider shopping here but I do not believe it is so bad that I would encourage boycotting the franchise at any capacity.

From here on, as I have yet to receive the package, I can not be certain if the games will be in them as promised yet I give them the benefit of the doubt to believe that they are just good people who although mean no harm, are terribly inadequate in their ability to give good services.

- 4 Stars for terrible experience, +1 for friendliness.

Great range of games, I bought Game of Thrones board game here. They might need more staff though, I don't think one guys is going to cut it when there is a line of people at the counter in such a small space.

Approximate cost: $50.00

The staff are simple and straight forward, the range is massive and has some classic gamestuffs, ala Chess sets, puzzles, as well as more modern stuff, ala Magic: the Gathering cards or Pimp: the Backhanding.

Approximate cost: $26

I wouldn't recommend this store at all. The staff are nice, the owners are rude and appear not yo want your business! Prices are on the expensive side due to high overheads being in the city.

The customer service for Games Paradise is horrendous. I made an order at their online store 1 month ago for products that were supposedly in stock and would take a few days to deliver. However, after 1 week, nothing had arrived, and I received an e-mail from them to tell me (without any apology at all) that some of my order would arrive over the next few days and my final item would arrive a few days after that. The first part of my order arrived, but my second did not. 3 weeks passed without delivery or being contacted by them, so I e-mailed them, asking where it was. The owner of the online store (Miles) again offered no apology at all, and was rude and promptly cancelled my order, stating that he believed that was what I wanted, which is ridiculous as my e-mail never ever stated or implied that I wanted to cancel my order. When I asked him to replace the order, he never replied.

So I contacted the offline stores and they said they simply could not help me. However, eventually one of them said they could get the owner of Games Paradise to call me back on the same day. I then got a call later to say that the owner couldn't call me back on the same day and that if I ring in the morning on the next day, I would be able to speak to him and resolve the matter. So I rang the next morning, and the owner wasn't there, and the person working there had no idea what I was talking about. So I asked this person to get me in touch with the owner, but she informed me that the owners were a husband and wife team (Nick & Jenny) and that the owner of the online store was their son, and that if I tried to ask the owners about this problem, I would get 'yelled' at. She then contacted the owner, who simply told her to tell me that they would not do anything about it, and that if their son cancelled my order, then he must have had a good reason. I stated that he had no good reason, but the person working there implied that I was wrong and that he must have had a good reason. So, at the moment, I can't do anything to get my order completed, because the owners of the offline and online store won't help. They just have absolutely terrible customer service across the whole company, which seems to be a family-run business, so don't hope for a change in management in the offline or online store any time soon. It's better to buy your products elsewhere unless you want to be treated poorly.

Ordered a bunch of games before christmas and they got here quite promptly. I had not ordered from them before, and only decided to do so because they offered all the items I wanted for the cheapest price I could find them. If I want similar products such as board games, trading card games, etc. in the future I will definitely use them.

Good stock, often available before the international release dates, and the young desk-flunky's are unusually competent. The management are a little prickly, and I have had close friends describe being banned from the store simply for shopping at a competitors store.
