Beautiful setting except for the mosquito's in summer. (There are cans of aeroguard on every table for good reason) The night we went as a group of 8 people there was only the owner working, we arrived at 6pm did not order any entrée's only one main each and were the only table in the restaurant. We didn't get our meals until 8.30pm.. I am not sure what took 2.5 hours for our meals but it was very disappointing. Unfortunately wouldn't return.

Make sure you arrive before sunset if possible as you can catch a beautiful sunset over the ocean at Gatakers which is very rare for the east coast. There never seems to be many people there when we go,, and it is like they expect this as there is usually only a handful of tables made up. The meals are delicious, well prices, and brought out in a timely manner. The lady who served us and delivered our meals smelt like cigarette smoke which was a bit off-putting.

The meals are delicious and great value. The food is very fresh and they have some good wines to accompany the meal. There is an art gallery and adjoining gardens. It is a quiet little restaurant on the beach located beside a boat ramp. Lovely green spacious grass surrounds the restaurant, making it a perfect venue for weddings and other functions. They do no operate every day which we found out the hard way. It is a little far away from the main areas in Hervey Bay.

WOW this is a wonderful restaurant- bar- functions - weddings whatever- has a wonderful art gallery - garden centre - ,entertainment- indoor and el fresco dining- quite fine dining- on the very waters edge- birds- fish- boats - view - just a beautiful experience- children welcome BUT more a fine dining special occasion experience- - staff are friendly menu is wonderful and prices- reasonable considering the overall experience -
