I am a professional photographer and have used Genius twice before as in general, my clients don't request canvas prints. I required a 30" x 30" photo printed and framed and wanted their 'shadow mount' option. It was for a client and her husband needed it for her 50th birthday party.

Eden, whom I contacted initially because the website indicated that shadow mounts were no longer available, talked to her manager and they advised that they were coming back in the next week. She contacted me on several occasions keeping me updated and when the print was ready - officially ordered on the Tuesday and it was ready and framed on the Friday - she emailed me and advised it was ready for pickup. I was amazed at the quality and the service and have been highly recommending Genius printing to friends and clients.

Honestly, having read some of the reviews prior, I was a little apprehensive but needed this one particular product, put my faith in them and I am thrilled!

I normally don't do reviews (this is my first online) and certainly don't like being negative but something has drastically changed for the worse at Genius Printing. As with the previous review I'm a professional photographer who relies on timely, quality prints delivered to my clients. Recently we placed two separate orders. One arrived late by three days and the x2 prints were the wrong print product! The other order arrived late by a week and a half. This consisted of x4 prints. Only one of these arrived as ordered and it had a bad join I could drive my car through. You think late products make your business look bad, it's worse when they arrive and they're not even what you ordered. Compounding this is a phone service that has disappeared. More often than not you will receive the answering service and not have the call even returned or if you do get through be put on hold for long periods of time. Service has become cold and impersonal. We've been with this company 3years, spent many thousands of dollars and couldn't tell you the name of a single employee, all emails are signed as "customer service". In the effort to achieve greater efficiencies they are losing the feel of a personable company. Products are constantly and sporadically pulled from their line-up without any communication, making it difficult to explain to one of your customers why suddenly they can't have the framing you had so positively and enthusiastically convinced them would be right for their circumstance. I was reluctant to make this review and prepared for Genius Printing to give a right of reply to my email of complaint sent on Thursday afternoon. But it's Monday night and I had to establish contact this afternoon to even find out what was going on down there. I was told a manager would return my call the next day. Just not good enough.

I am a professional photographer who used to bring all my business to genius but have recently taken my business elsewhere. They USED to be very reliable, jobs on time, people answering the phones or returning calls in a timely manner. After their recent 'technical difficulties' though, there service has not returned to normal and they just can't be relied on anymore. The standard of their work has dropped considerably (framing is sloppy) and the last few jobs I gave them were all late. If you are a photographer thinking of using them and the reputation of you business is important to you, I would recommend going elsewhere. And to the person in charge at genius, your customers are no longer happy and the word is spreading along the grapevine - lift your game.

We totally agree David... service has been really bad lately. We did have some major tech problems but compounded on this was moving recently. It was a massive undertaking and it has impacted on our business. We're only a small company but do 30,000 prints per year. We love what we do, we're expanding rapidly and we want our customers to be happy. We've finished the move and we'd like to give you a $100 voucher to apologise. We couldn't locate you in our database because of the minimal user information posted here so please shoot us an email and we'll get it out to you. Hi, just wondering if you received your voucher and used Genius again? Any improvement? We used Genius about a year ago, and were really happy with the product and service. By the latest reviews, not sure if I would use them again though. Any more feedback?

Recently ordered a rolled canvas. Uploading of the photo was relatively easy and informative. Found the recommendations for size useful. The photo I got printed was very dark as it was a night shot so wasn't too sure how it would look printed. When the print arrived I was pleased to see that the photo had been accurately reproduced on the canvas. In fact it looks better than I had expected. Delivery was quick, ordered sunday afternoon and had the print wednesday afternoon. Very happy with the results and also the price. The cost of rolled canvas was less than half that of a framed from other sites and major retailers. Will be getting rolled prints from here again and I recommend the same if you are capable of knocking together a frame.

I ordered a canvas print from a photo as a birthday gift to a friend. I phoned and spoke to a woman (didn't get a name) to ensure my print would arrive in time and was assured it would. I was going to get it sent rolled (not stretched) as we are outside usual delivery areas being in Darwin, NT but I was told it would arrive in time. I should have started to be concerned when the phone wasn't answered as a business line should be but I continued. I paid, adapted the print also as it was a low res photo but it had sentimental value so I wanted to use it. 2 May 2012 I was emailed to say the print was ready in your online system and 2 May I paid and received email conformation. 4 May I received another email saying it would ship shortly. However, when I received an email 10 May saying it had been shipped only that day I was very upset. All along I had put in my correspondence, written and verbal that I needed it by 11th, yet it took 9 days from payment to even being despatched. Additionally the quality is ordinary compared to a print another friend had ordered online from a competitor - I should have followed his advice. I missed giving my friend her birthday gift at her celebration which was disappointing and want to tell you that your service doesn't live up to what I was assured would happen. I won't recommend your company to anyone.

In a week where we were burdened with an unprecedented number of technical issues beyond our control, there were in fact a number of late orders and this was one of them.

We offered all affected customers 25% off and full refunds if requested. We're sorry Lisa that this was your first experience with Genius Printing and of course it's hard to think that this was a very isolated incident.

It's also our first negative review out of 135 however this was completely our fault.

The colour on the canvas is bluer than I thought it would be based on the brighter colour on the PC screen. This is not your problem as the printing process and canvas produce a duller colour - as clearly stated on your web site. But I was just a little disappointed. Otherwise the quality of the photo and the canvas is excellent.

Quick response to emails.

Your emphasis on quality for a reasonable price as stated on your web site, plus the opportunity to see a free sample photo on canvas in advance of placing my final order. By the way, I asked for a sample of a photo different from the one I finally ordered.
