Just had a terrible experience at this fish and chip shop. Uncooked chicken kebabs and grilled fish cooked using SAME spatula. On questioning this practise I was told it's normal but 95% of the time they don't do only at closing as they need to pack up.
Spoke to owner who explained he doesn't have to was his hands when handling lettuce then dim sims as there's no bacteria? Not sure what he means by that?
When I tried to say I was worried about cross contaminations (e.g. food poisoning, campilobacter etc) he told me to go to the council and check it out.
Wouldn't you think he'd a least try to keep his loyal customers.
Bad customer service,
Risky food practises.
One to avoid

This is our not so local fish & chip shop we buy from most weeks. The food is fresh, the people are friendly and the shop is extremely organized! I was even impressed on Good Friday, I may have had to wait a bit longer but they were ridiculously busy but I couldn't fault their system!

Very good local fish and chip shop. Visit here every 2-3 months and always have a good meal. Standard fish and chip prices. The hamburgers are always tasty as well with adequate toppings.

Approximate cost: $8

Yum! Fish and chips! We don't have it very often, so you don't want to be disappointed when you do, which we weren't. The place was really clean, the oil changed regularly, pretty reasonably priced, and quick friendly service.

Very clean shope amd always at least 10 staff members working. Good fish and chips and their souvlaki's are quite nice however they can be a bit grisly at times and I have found on quite a few occasions that they run out of lamb. So I suggest calling early on a Friday or Saturday night to avoid disappointment

Friendly staff. Have been to gills & grills quite a few times but the last few visits have been a let down. The spring rolls were over cooked and the oil in the fryers really needed changing. The burgers are still delicious but a little over priced.

Love this fish & chips shop. Have never had a bad meal. Good value packs for 2 or 4 people, and they often throw in a few freebies. There's something special about opening the paper and finding an extra potato cake or two.
Can get quite busy though and on a Friday or weekend it may be better to ring in your order if you're in a hurry.

Definately ring your order through on a busy night. Went in on Friday night and was told it was about a 10 minute wait. Finally got my order over 30 minutes later and had to stand there and watch the phone orders walk in a pick up either immediately or they quickly put them together so they didn't have to wait! Wouldn't of cared so much if they just told me it was a 30 minute wait in the first place.

Their food is amazing - crispy batter, fresh fish cooked to perfection. I've had a lot of fish & chips over the years but I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

Approximate cost: $6

I love Gills and Grills in Rowville. The service is fantastic and its the only place I know that repeats your order back to you without even asking!
