went on a mother's day harbour cruise today, OMG lots of room for improvement. We were told to arrive no later than 12.15 for 12.30 departure, the queue was massive and the check in system appalling, they did not let anybody board until 12.45 because they were so disorganised, and then they had all the names written on a sheet, a very antiquated check-in system indeed! I was not asked when I bought the tickets if we were with anybody else and sadly we were sat upstairs with ppl we didn't know, and our friends were sat downstairs on a different table, so we couldn't sit together. We asked the manager and he said he would do something but unfortunately forgot about us! The cruise was a 3 hour cruise, however the boat did not leave until 1.20, so we lost almost 1 hour just being docked, yet we still returned at 3.30. They started serving drinks and no food until well after 2pm, my child was so hungry by then, and so were many of the others, they had to sneakily take bread rolls and by the time my son had eaten 3 and the food finally was ready, he wasn't interested! It is poor form to serve alcohol and no food, especially when on a boat. The food was smorgasboard style however you couldn't help yourself, and they would put 1 prawn on your plate, so you had to keep asking for more as it definitely wouldn't be enough. The queues were outrageously long, considering there were 300 people on the boat. The food was very average, and the dessert which was described as "chef's selection of cakes" was a joke. They placed a 2x2cm piece of cake in front of you and you had no choice, so when I asked if I could have chocolate instead of carrot the waiter was not happy about it! There were many ppl on the cruise who were sadly disappointed and disillusioned about what they were expecting. I must say the entertainment was pretty good, the weather just gorgeous so we just had to suck it up and enjoy ourselves regardless, but we would definitely never come back until major improvements have been made.

Me and my partner decided to go for Valentine's day cruise and we decided to go with Good Time Harbour cruise.
We thought it would be nice to do something special on this day.
So, the ship was supposed to depart at 7.30pm but hasn't left the harbour until 8pm. One would think that these cruises would leave on time.
But the worst shock was when entered and saw tables and how squeezed and squashed everyone was! It was all long tables seating (10-15 people on one side), similar to garden bier place set up where everyone sits behind long tables. And we had to pull chair right out to be able to sit behind the table as there was no way (not even for the skinniest person in the world) to be able to squeeze in without doing it. Also, not too much space between tables.
Then the food came...... One plastic plate per couple with 2 prawns, 4 fried balls of something and 2 little strips of smoked salmon. After the entree, entertainment came - bad impressionist of Elvis Prestley with 2 dancers (?), they couldn't dance at all.
Then about an hour later main course came in form of the buffet. Overcooked rice with supposedly prawns (I didn't get any in my portion), lamb skewers that were harder then shoe sole, burnt chicken skewers, cold meatballs and fresh salad.
Dessert - slices of watermelon and some oranges served on platters on buffet table. Cruise ship staff had to be searched for by one of the customers when fruit platter needed to be replaced.
Over all, the experience was extremely disappointing and we regret wasting money like this. I'd like to warn people from going to one of Good Time harbour cruises, please save yourselves money, time and disappointment. There's plenty of other companies that would look after you a lot better and would give you good value for money.

Approximate cost: $130

Yep its certainly seems that these cruise ship operators plan on you being a captive audience . You cannot jump over board or run away! they know this..
