Such a great salon. Friendly, skilled staff and reasonably priced. I've been to some of the best salons in Melbourne and paid hundreds for cuts and colors that have been average, but at Green Butterfly I've always been happy. Only downside is sometimes hard to get appointment - but that's because they are so good their always busy :)

Since moving to Melbourne i have been going to Green Butterfly, this has been 5 years. However i have to confess that last year i went to another hairdresser because i heard they were good and really cheap. i'm prone to seeking a good deal wherever possible. Anyway, i wasn't really happy with my new stylist and was plagued by guilt. I started to walk on the other side of High Street, for two reasons really, my hair looked crap and i felt crap about leaving them. This went on for quiet a while. Eventually my girlfriend told me i had to get a decent haircut. I was relieved to go back. When i went back everyone was most welcoming and said they were worried about me. They thought they had done something to upset me. I had to explain that i was a "tight-ass" and that it had nothing to do with them. Its good to be back home. I'm happy and girlfriend is happy. Green Butterfly are amazing. Specifically in my experience, Sam is an amazing colourist and Euan does amazing extensions. I started going to Green Butterfly after my previous hairdresser completely ruined my hair, and the folks at GB are helping me nurse it back to health. Really friendly staff, cool vibe and great music, and everyone's always ready to have a chat. Plus, compared to some hairdressers I have been to, their rates are very reasonable. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Amazing.I had been "without a hairdresser" for some time and after going through a fair bit of hair angst which included two expensive but ugly haircuts,followed by expensive extensions which fell out and looked scraggy I found SAM and Green Butterfly.All sorted. Extraordinary cut that just feels good every day and is not hard to maintain. The staff are all really friendly and have excellent communication skills and the service is really generous and spirited. Sam has changed my life!!!!They also do awesome extensions so if ever I do that again I know that I will be in good hands as these people really know hair.!

I have been to Sam who did my colour & it was the best result i have had since colouring my hair, looked really natural. I love this salon because it is so down to earth and friendly, really relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The prices are also unbeatable and afforable & the products they use are natural which i like. I would definatly go back there if i hadn't moved so far away as it would be quite a trek (few hours) :(. Highly reccomend this salon!

I've just had my second appointment at Green Butterfly who I initially went to based on the good reviews on this site. I most definitely was not disappointed. Sam is fantastic, she nailed my color the very first time I saw her and it keeps getting better. The whole team are really lovely and really value and remember their clients, which I think is pretty rare. I love the laid back atmosphere of the salon and feeling truly welcome. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this salon to anyone - my friend is trying it shortly - I am thrilled that I found them and will keep coming back.

Visiting Green Butterfly cured me of my hairdresser phobia. The focus genuinely seemed to be on giving me a cut and colour I was happy with and that suited me - not on criticising the fact that I hadn't had a haircut for months, or on selling me the latest $40 styling cream. The cut was a little bit unexciting but still good, and suited me, and the colour was absolutely perfect!

I have never been back to a hairdresser more than a few times. I have now been going to Green Butterfly for about two years, usually to see Tash and a few times for Nat. I have had so many strangers come up to me and complement me on my hair style and colour. I am usually vague about what style I want and leave it up to Tash to do whatever she pleases. I will never be straying from this place.
They also provide a great dating service. I met my husband through the hair salon. Tash did my hair for my wedding at it was sensational!!!
People are important to me and how they make me feel and I must say everyone at Green Butterfly are super friendly and entertaining.
Ewan makes for a great tea lady and bar tender.

I've been seeing Tash for about 7 years since she worked out of her house and I wouldn't go to anyone else. If you know what you want, she does it perfectly and if you don't, she'll give you the perfect haircut. You can't go wrong. The salon is a delight and you are always made to feel welcome. All the guys in the salon are gorgeous and the whole thing is a very personal experience - like you're with old friends. I have recommended heaps of my friends and and a result, many of them have become repeat customers. I can't recommend Green Butterfly highly enough. (But do book ahead. As I just found out, they are all super busy and now I have to wait... It's worth it though... :))

Natalie is a very talented stylist and colourist. I have been very happy with the service here and would recommend.
