I have had dreads for seven years now so when i need maintenance for my wedding I was really apprehensive about going to a hairdressing salon ( but my mum insisted ) a friend told me about Green Butterfly and a that a guy there specializes in dreads and that I should see him....glad I did ( so was Mum ) Ewan made my hair amazing and the helped with the pre wedding hair nerves with cruizy tunes and a glass of wine. I can't thank Ewan enough. Its also cool that he knows his dreads rather than a hairdresser who decides they know about dreads!

Really nice personalised salon, you feel happy and comfortable the minute you walk in there. I have only been there the one time but would go back again.

A laid-back salon, totally unpretentious, no pink walls and shiny chrome tables here. They offer a great cut and colour, but more importantly give personal consultations in a friendly atmosphere. Kids are welcome.

I heard about Green Butterfly from other WOMOW reviews and I was excited to try it out. As soon as I walked in I was happy with my decision! Everyone was so friendly and the actual salon decor is gorgeous and trendy. I didn't have a particular style in mind but gave some guidelines and came away with a brilliant cut which really suits me. The staff are so nice and their relaxed chat makes you feel really comfortable. Will definitely be going back again!

getting my hair done at Green Butterfly is fantastic, they listen to what I ask for in my haircut and the cut is always a good one which suits me, I often get compliments on my hair since coming here. And as for the colour... well all I can say is wow, I love it. So much so that I leave the choice of colours entirely up to them these days. Plus the company is fantastic and the conversation extremely entertaining. Would highly recommend these guys to anyone, its a great experience as well as a fantastic hair cut!

The staff were lovely and friendly but compared to other salons that I have been to my hair style was just average. It wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. As soon as my hair grew a little, the style was gone and I needed to go and have it cut again. I find that with more skilled stylists, my hair can grow out for a while and still look great.

Wow. Simply wow. What a relaxing, friendly and awesome salon. I moved into the area a year or so ago and had been looking for a new salon, finally I found Green Butterfly. I was in BAD need of a good color and cut for a big event, and just generally, and I came out looking sensational. (and just so you know, guys, we won the competition that night!) could not recommend Green Butterfly highly enough.

After moving to the Northcote area almost a year ago, I'm so excited I've finally found a hairdresser worth returning to a second time.

Tash has been cutting my hair for about 10 years now - I've followed her from salon to salon and when I returned to Melbourne from living in London I was really pleased to see she and Ewen had set up their own business. It's great to have that continuity with someone who understands your hair and who you can be truthful with about what you want and don't want. Salon has a lovely, friendly vibe.

Happy to travel across town to get my hair done here.

My 8 year old son came out of the salon looking like a junior version of Paul Weller, complete with some punky little 'triggers'. Sam cut his hair. A very welcoming little space. Highly reccommended!
