We also loved the kangaroos and wallabies. My youngest was enthralled with them coming right down on the grassed areas around our tents in the early morning and evening especially. And the bird life here is wonderful too.

We had a lovely even grassed site for our tents. Lots of trees around for shade. I also liked the camp fireplaces where you could cook up a "real" outdoor bush BBQ. There was also more than one camp kitchen.

Amenities blocks were clean and the hot water didn't run out. Not far out of town which was good as it got rather chilly at night and we had to stock up on some extra blankets.

A great base to go exploring from. The walks are sensational. We had a very pleasant camping stay. There are also cabins you can book. It's a popular place, so I'd recommend always ringing ahead.

Approximate cost: $Under $100 for a few night's stay with two tents (5 people)

Driven past and wondered what the caravan park would be like, thanks for sharing your experience (love all the kangaroos around Halls Gap)
