Do not recommend

Had my cat desexed 2 weeks ago, and I will never return. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Upon arrival there were a fair few people already in the waiting room, which was fine, but I was just told to stand and wait. I was called to collect my cat not even 4 hours later, they couldn't locate her paperwork at first and then eventually did in the chaos that I can only describe as rush hour at the supermarket with all of the people collecting their pets from surgery. When they brought her out to me, she was shaking, distress purring, covered in her own urine and had clearly just been left in her cat carrier which was also soaked in urine. No cone was provided, and when I called to ask if I should have purchased my own on the drive home I was told "cats don't really lick their wounds" and that no cone was necessary. I indeed did need a cone, my cat licked her wounds the first chance she got. I've just been to a different vet to have her sutures removed to be told that the hernia repair performed wasn't done correctly and she has a 2cm separation where it is still open on the inside, possibly requiring a second surgery. DO NOT send your pets here, there is a reason it is so cheap.

The only vets for my babies.

The receptionists at Hanlys are caring and compassionate and put up with my neurotic worry over my elderly chihuahuas extensive dental surgery removing all his teeth.
The vets worked overtime to do an excellent job repairing the damage to my dogs jaw from me leaving it far too long to have his teeth removed.
I have moved away from the area but still travel back to Hanlys for my dogs treatment.
Can't praise enough.

Do not take your animals to this slaughter house....I made the worst mistake in my 30 years of owning dogs and cats by looking for a budget vet!

There a allot better vets in perth
Dont make the same mistake I have also get your animals out of this clinic use proven and trusted vet surgeons find out their experiences and quality's dont settle for the name of the clinic...
From now on I will be requesting the actual surgeon name who performs the procedure we must as owners do this for our loved ones. And hold those clinics accountable...zero4fouratefour3onetwofiveate for more info happy to clarify.

I would recommend Hanly Vet. They were half the price of the vets around where I live and the service and quality of work was just as good, if not better.

On November 30th we took our beloved male cat to Hanly vet to be sterilised and we got a phone call in the morning to say there had been complications and he was having trouble breathing. we drove there and the vet then said he was stable and only allowed us to see him from afar in an oxygen box. We really wanted to come close so he could see us but were told we could excite him and were not allowed to do so. We were not advised that he could get worse, instead the vet spoke of the future when he said we could pick him up tomorrow so we calmed down and drove home. Very shortly after we ring them and are told he had died. We were in shock and rushed back to find our boy lying dead on the table.
Our question is why did the vet not warn us that he could get worse, we would've stayed so at least he could have seen us before he died and the fact he died alone has turned our life upside down. My mum can't do anything and cries everyday over the way that he died. He was only young at 10 months.
Vets should offer to do pretests for potential underlying conditions that could cause reactions to anaesthetic, if we had been offered one to check our boy we definitely would have done so.
In the end our darling young boy is in his grave and we don't know how to get back to our normal lives after such a huge loss!
We've lost the happiness in our lives and we always thought he'd live a long life with us.

Vets who truly care, take time to listen to your concerns and give you answers. They are not money orientated they want to help. Been going here for years with all our pets and will be going for many to come. Thank you to all who work there

I would highly recommend Hanly Vet Clinic to anyone. I recently had to make the decision to have my beloved boy Barney put down and the staff there were great. They did everything they could to make him comfortable and were so supportive when the difficult decision had to be made. I have been taking my dogs there for about 10 years and have dealt with Gary, Dariusz and Masaaki. They have always been extremely professional and caring and I can't thank them enough.

I recently lost my beloved and my "baby" Jake who regularly visited Hanly and I found them to be very professional and cost effective on every visit. He was very sick and both the vets and nurses took very good care of him throughout treatment but his lost his battle but Hanly did their best to try and save him. Every time I visited the vet with Jake the team were very helpful and they went way beyond with jake's care and trying to save his life which I appreciate they did their best and when it was time to say goodbye they were very professional and caring. Thank you so much the team at Hanly Vets (really appreciate your help)- I will always use this vet and recommend them to everyone I know friends and family. Cheers Aileen

I would highly recommend this team to anyone who treats their animals well. Gary Hanly has carried out two successful major operations on both Jet and Penny.
The team are very generous by not overcharging when there is certainly opportunities for them to do so.

The veterinary nurses should never underestimate what a professional standard from
them means to a practise. I am very aware that the nurses don't get anywhere near enough recognition for their efforts. Remember a degree is just that however, experience in the field for a number of years as a vet nurse is a fantastic accomplishment! I'm a dental nurse so I have a wee bit of insight into what your lives are like at the clinic.
I have found that all 4 veterinarians that I have seen over 10 years have all demonstrated that they care for the animal and have treated mine with the appropriate medication for any conditions.
Thank you for your kindness and consistency. Cheers!

I have attended Hanly Vets since the practice started with a menagerie of animals. I have always found them efficient, caring and not all about the mighty dollar! Many vets are bordering on unaffordable for the average working family. Although I have moved away from the area I am still tempted to make the trek to Hanly Vet clinic.
Five stars!

Gary Hanly has certainly devoted his life to the welfare of animals. The knowledge and expertise of the team is outstanding they are certainly dedicated professionals. Gary has treated our Staffy's Wolfgang & Arch and has always been caring and understanding especially when they have required a sleep over. In this day and age it is great to have a vet that is really about the animals not the money..... Good on you Gary Hanly and your team

I'm a 20yr+ customer of this vets and wouldn't go anywhere else. These people REALLY care about the animals brought to them, to the point they can be a bit brusque with their human customers at times. I have adopted animals from them, brought injured wildlife to them, had animals euthanased there on multiple occasions and always felt the care and compassion they had for their customers (the animals, not me!). I highly recommend them.

Ive been going here for donkeys years, had many pets pass away over the years, mainly from Old age. I've seen hundreds of happy clients go in and out all smiles while waiting my turn in the waiting room, I think your comments above mine are a bit harsh, and you were probably very emotional at such a sad time. There is nothing that anybody can do or say at at the time of losing a loved on and family pet, believe me I know first hand, Ive lost a few, as I said, but there is nothing that anybody can do or say to comfort you at a time of loss that can make things better or bring your loved one back. I remember when grandparents pass years ago, I went to the bank to sort out finances for a funeral, and I thought everybody around me was rude and insensitive, nothing could have been further from the truth, I was just too emotional, raw and sensitive at the time to see.

philfii 26 Jun 2013

I understand what you are trying to say but my experience had nothing to do with me being over emotional or over sensitive due to my dog passing away.I have lost many pets over the years also (most people have experienced this loss) and I never said anything about this being the vets fault. My review was based on the way in which it was handled and how I was spoken to, there is never an excuse for nasty, rude behaviour especially at a sad time.

Hi Philfii, All things considered (‘Calum’s’ lacking TrustFactor, the fact that he/she has ‘not’ submitted any other reviews and that it he/she appears to have joined WOMO simply to make the afore-mentioned comments), it would be wise to consider the contents as suspicious. Indeed, one is left wondering whether the individual in question is in one way or another connected to the business. Making accusation against another member (in an attempt to discredit the content of their review) is unnecessary and uncalled for, irrespective of how ‘nicely’ it is done and we hope you will not take such comments to heart. We appreciated the restraint and candor shown when composing this review. Regards, Reeces

I actually had a terrible experience here and won't ever go back. My do passed away here and I found the vet and staff to be extremely rude and insensitive. The vet spoke harshly and was extremely arrogant and defensive when we asked questions. Maybe my experience may have been different if it was just a routine check up but due to the nature in the way the vet and staff treated us I would never return nor recommend.

Hi Philfii, Thank you kindly for taking the time to write such a candid review, one that would have surely been a difficult task given the sensitive nature of the experience. In light of this (traumatic) experience, we appreciate your ability to compose a logical and well thought out review. Regards, Reeces

Im sorry to hear you had a bad experience I will think twice again about taking my dog there, though no one really like rottwielers, so i thought it was just my dog that they didnt like. One many occasions i have taken large donations of towles and bedding for their kennels and they never seem grateful.

Friendly Vet Hospital, Cheap affordable prices on sterilisations and vaccinations, Pricey with surgeries etc but that is to be expected with pets.
Priceless service when its your pets health, but good to know your pets are in good hands :-)
