They told us joining couple policy, we can share our extra cover limit, which means if single policy gets 1000 annual limit, then we can share the 2000 between us. But NO, we can't. Totally a lie. Now we want to split to have different types of covers, and they are making a total disaster. Lying company.

Recently joined HBF, from the start they overcharged saying that it was until they confirmed the rebate and they would refund once approved. I kept calling over and over about my refund and rebate, customer service reps were friendly but never followed up to my questions, wouldn't get a call back or email with an answer. I gave poor feedback on one of their surveys, someone called me back and said that they were never going to refund, that I would get that money back on my tax refund.

I got this much trouble over little money, I can't imagine how difficult the process is when you actually have to pay for surgery or an expensive treatment. I had to cancel this policy.

I inherited HBF because they took over GMF. The customer service is really NON-EXISTANT! When I was with GMF, the phone was answered in less than 3 minutes. HBF gave me a new card that wouldn't give me a benefit on HICAPS today and when I tried to call to sort out the situation, I was on hold more than half an hour and the person at HBF was unable to help me! I wasted so much time that I was unable to attend my next appointment. They couldn't even give me a quote on an item number! I ended up paying full cost to the dentist and decided to do an online claim. I was unable to register on the site to do this and when I left a message to be called back, I was given the message that it would be in 3 days! THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I will be leaving this fund ASAP as I have never experienced such bad service anywhere ever!

I recently had to have surgery to my spine and was concerned that my costs would not be met as they exceeded $10,500. To my surprise HBF paid the whole amount and i was even able to use my gap saver to pay for outstanding charges relating to the surgery.
