Gary was just very quick to respond to my Hipages ad
Gary Charged me $135.50 suppose to be for just coming to my place, and all he did talk talk for the all time so I had to pay Gary just to give me a quote
did absolutely nothing else !!! to my opinion he was just interested to clock more time so he could’ve made more money on the eccessive call out fee. Of $110 plus $27.50 every 15 minutes
I asked Gary to give me a quote
He went to his car and came back with $800 quote because the toilet wasn’t installed probably he had to pull apart and then see what part was needed
I told to go away and was not interested being ripped off

He gave me and invoice of $125 plus gst total $135.50
To be paid in 7 days

Finally I called another plumber
He fixed the problem in 5 Minutes just by tightening the plastic screws inside the toilet tank
And he only charged me $50 no call out fee

Should I had paid Gary from Heidelberg Plumbing Service for what he did ??
At the end I did pay
I have learned my lesson and
Hopefully in the future I will be dealing with decent honest people

Gary came out quickly and did a decent job. However, Gary was deceptive in charging a hefty call out fee, without mentioning it on the phone, then charged $440 for a 35 minute job. Gary connected conduit from our hot water service to our existing storm water drainage for $440 dollars.

Approximate cost: $440

Perhaps the expectations of a tradie are so low these days that a prompt call back is considered good service !

Whining aside, Gary called back quickly, came and fixed it promptly and just got on with it. The job was reasonably small so I wasnt sure if I could expect much interest.
I would be happy to use him again.

I gulped a bit when looking at the bill but it covered the travel time to get the parts and I guess, the urgency with which we wanted it fixed.

I found Heidelberg Plumbing on WOMO so am pleased for the recommendation !

My mum's kitchen taps needed repairing, after a family member 'plumber', botched the job and just left it! I got Garry's number from a friend of mine, who worked in Property Management. Contacted Garry and he was very helpful and available the next day. He contacted me when he was on his way to mum's, so I could meet up with him at the right time. (Mum's old and doesn't speak English!) Gave me a quote on the spot, which I was happy with and he immediately fixed the problem, in no time at all, which both mum and I were happy with, especially mum! the relative had done a shoddy, cheat's job at 'fixing' the 'major' problem and left it like that, for ages, but Garry had repaired and replaced all the parts, in about 30 mins! Had to call Garry back, about a month later, but it was nothing major and again, came and fixed it in no time! Mum's house is old and no doubt the pipes may need to be replaced one day, and if they do, I'll be calling Garry and making sure my sister doesn't let the other family member touch anything! :) Garry is prompt, efficient and get's on with the job straight away. Had all the necessary parts with him, too!
