The berry farm is well worth the drive outside of Launceston for a morning or afternoon. The berries you get to pick yourself and even sample a few, they are large and full of flavor and last much longer than the disappointing excuse of berries sold at a supermarket. The staff in the cafe are friendly too but lets face it we are there for the fruit :)

The strawberries here are beyond my expectations, massive fresh and full of flavor nothing like the rubbish you pay for in the supermarket. The fields are laid out well and they are happy for you to sample a few as you pick. The prices are well worth taking the extra time to drive out there. I havent personally sampled the cafe but the meals/snacks others have been eating there look amazing. They are by far a family friendly location with so much room for the kids to play and have fun

Perfect for a family outing, only a short drive from Launceston, our kids love picking their own berries and getting a treat from the cafe afterwards, plenty of space for the kids to play whilst the adults have a coffee. Looking forward to berry season

I have been taking my daughter here for the last 8 years and she loves going. It is a great place for the family to go for a day outting or just go by yourself. You can pick your own raspberries, strawberries, logan berries, blackberries and currants. The farm is set on 40 acres so plenty of room for everyone. After picking the fruit you want you can stroll back to the cafe and have one of the famous Hillwood Berry Farm Super Deluxe Sundae. They are so yummy. As well as picking there is a kids playground for the kids to play on while the adults relax in the cafe. My daughter loves talking to the Cocky the famous Cockatoo. But be warned do not stick your fingers in the cage cause he is cheeky and will give you a bite. In the cafe you can sample wines, cheese and icecreams. They sell wines, liqueurs, jams, toppings and farm fresh honey. The staff are really helpful and very friendly.
