Call first for reservation to avoid the queuing. We went as a group, I ordered pad thai and watermelon shake, for me the pad thai-prawns is just ok nothing special. My friends ordered soft shell crab and I tasted it and its yummy! The quality of food depends on what you order.

ALSO I'd recommend giving one of their fruit shakes a go. They have all the regular flavours (strawberry, mango) but also the more exotic ones (guava, avocado) and every single one is delicious - yes I've tried them all HAHA! Great size too.

The food here is amazing. However you need to get here early to avoid the queue as they don't take reservations. It is a little busy but recommended.

Totally agree! Love this place, shame about the queues and wait times, but definitely a restaurant to try for Authentic Thai Cusine in the heart of Canley Heights.

The food here is amazing. I live 40 mins away from this restaurant and have eaten there at least 20 times with friends and clients. The whole fried fish with mango salad and the fried ice-cream are the most amazing flavours you will taste. Red curry duck 'absolutely sensational'. Green curry veggies & cashew vegetables delicious. 'Pineapple' juice was very unpineappley and much more like orange postmix.
Highly recommended

I've heard so much about this place, I was really hoping for it to be good. I had the good old Pad Siew/Pad See Ew, and it was good, but it was very salty. Really, very salty. This place is very busy however, and the amount of water I had to drink was not supported by the lack of service provided by the staff. I did feel bad and I asked if we could just keep a pitcher of water at our table (we were a large group of six people) and they said no. Great.

The service didn't get much better, as there was an inordinately long wait for our food, one one of their less busy days, and there was no apology made for this whatsoever, nor was there any acknowledgement. When we asked for the bill, it took quite a while as well, you would've thought they would have been eager to get their money and get us out of there, with the lack of enthusiasm they were serving us with.

A letdown, the food was reasonable, but I prefer restaurants that are more service-oriented with good food, even if I have to pay a bit more. This is not the place to go if you are similar.

Apart from the massive wine glasses, I don't really see the big deal about this place is. The food is ok - I've had better. It is always busy & you have to share your table with other people in the restaurant! I like my space, not being cramped. Service is ok, my sister had to ask a few times for the same thing. I've been here once & I would not go out of my way to come here.

Absolutely love this place. My fav restaurant ever. Im a very big fan of Thai & Laos food, and the food here is devine. I love the busy, loud atmosphere at Holy Basil! The wait to get a table is horrible!! I've waited 40 mins one time, but it was worth the wait!
Everytime i go i always order the duck feet salad, the fried ice cream and the watermelon shake!! MMMM

Great. I'd recommend their famous fried ice cream, though it's a bit pricey, it's pretty big and most importantly, DELICIOUS. It comes with a bit of some toffee-like crumble stuff which just tops it off. Better than any other Thai fried ice cream I've had.

As for their entrees and mains, also delicious :) I love their salads, refreshing and tangy but also filling. Also definitely try their red duck curry - YUMMMM.

They also offer you the choice of mild medium hot or crazy hot when they take your order which is good for first-timers to Thai in general and who might not expect their meal to come out particularly spicy - their spice threshold is INSANE.

ALSO I'd recommend giving one of their fruit shakes a go. They have all the regular flavours (strawberry, mango) but also the more exotic ones (guava, avocado) and every single one is delicious - yes I've tried them all HAHA! Great size too.

Service is also good, however the price range is pretty average, nothing that screams out "bargain!"

Approximate cost: $15

Went there for the fried ice cream, it's worth the ~$14 ;)
The thai food is similar to other thai restaurants in the area, but the ambience is better.
They're so busy their waiters seem tired, but they still attempt to deliver ur requests quickly.

Approximate cost: $25
