The hotel orient has transformed from a once grungy hotel into thriving pub with a classic feel. The food here is good. I am not sure the reason for the move to Mexican food, but it is well priced and goes good with beers.

Definitely worth checking out. I would go back more except I tend not to go to that part of town that much.

no such thing as free dinner? YES THERE IS~! [the 2 5 star ratings = because IT REALLY WAS FREE!] Hotel Orient had a promo for people with birthdays in Feb / Mar to enjoy a free dinner with 10 friends =) this is the first I've come across such a great deal & I was only too happy to oblige! while my friends & I enjoyed our time there being served by the friendly staff, the music was a little on the loud side to enjoy conversation without talking up abit. but the food was served in generous portions - did get to see the actual prices, so i can only say whatever you pay, your stomach will be filled with Mexican happiness =)
