very good sized servings. good pricings how ever when eating here in winter you need to eat quickly before everything gets cold.
This Hunky Dory is actually quite small in comparison to the Moonee Ponds one and if you are sitting next to the door - BEWARE OF THE STEP. Entrance is a ramp but if you are sitting next to it, its easy to mis-step and possible to sprain an ankle or worse especially if you dont have balance. Only one toilet so dont leave it until the last minute.
Had more than enough food for 2 people for only $54.

This place has a great reputation but I'd say it is pretty ordinary. still great value fish and chips without having to go to the seaside!

More than your average fish and chip shop – really high quality fish and chips with generous serving sizes. The Fried and Grilled mixed packs are great value.

Very expensive fish and chips! However they come with free opportunity to sit and watch the world go by with the sea breeze rolling off the Bay and the option of purchasing a beer or 3 :) great salads and much more than your usual fish and chip shop, however about double the price of a suburban fish and chip shop.

Friendly, fast service, great food, clean kitchen and tables. I don't normally eat fish and chips but the meal was at the request of a visitor. We had a pack - fish, chips, potato cake and dim sim. The price was reasonable. The food was hot. Fish - battered but tasty, chips - crisp and they tasted like potatoes, potato cake - just right. All in all good value.

I can agree with every review - the food is always fresh and the staff are always polite and happy. It's affordable and clean. It's always incredibly busy but I'm happy to wait.

This really is the best fish and chip shop ever. I ordered a grilled seafood salad which had fish, calamari, 2 prawns then a salad which is like a greek salad, olives, feta, tomato, lettuce. Absolutely Delicious!! Fish just falls apart in your mouth and the salad has a great dressing. They have limited number of seats so try not to go during the lunch rush if your in a hurry as it is always full. Definitely worth the wait though!

Would have to be one of the best fish and chip shops around, and love coming here for a good feed when in the area.
They have char grilled food that is to die for I love the grilled seafood salad, and their souvlaki's, fish and potato cakes. Chips are cooked to perfection. My husband's favourite is the hamburgers and says the are just delicious.

i was glad we decided to stop in here i loved the scallops they were quite big and tasted so fresh and their tartare sauce was so good too,the wife tried their souvlaki and it was huge,the staff were friendly also

The nicest grilled fish I've had in years. I had it with a spinach salad which had more than token walnuts and Parmesan. Excellent and great value. grilled calimari was pretty awesome too!

i loved the souvlaki i had here you could tell it was made of high quality meat and the salad was very fresh too,they also put heaps of chicken salt on my chips for me when i asked ,quite a busy shop but the service was good

One of the best fish and chip shops in Melbourne! Everything is very fresh. They do healthy meals and they do a fab grilled fish too. Who could resist a fish salad and rice.

We went there with some overseas visitors over the weekend. The food is good and the staff are friendly. The fish, the chips, the seafood, the salad are all good quality. Will definitely go back again.

This place rocks - it is healthy, tasty and reasonably priced. The African is my favourite. The portion sizes are generous and the service is always friendly. Certainly the best fish and chips in town

Benny, Sonny and the boys are amazing!! It's no wonder this is one of the most successful business on Bay Street. Their consistanty and hard work is a credit to each of these staff members. Even in times of being heavily packed with customers, these guys always take the moment to greet me by name and ask openly how myself and my partner have been since the last time I'd been in. They always have a smile on their face and make us feel welcome back every time. I have spread the good word here and referred many people to the "Best fish in chips" this side of the river. Well worth the drop in. Keep up the good work guys. Well done!!!

Delicious and freshly prepared fish and chips! No kidding when I say that the fried flake simply melts in your mouth! there is right amount of batter and fried just perfectly

You are given a good serve of chips with your order and they too are golden and crispy.

There is a great salad bar with a variety of freshly made salads. I cannot comment on the taste of the salads, as I have not ordered them, but my sister in law did order salad with her meal she said it was yum!

I have been there many times and last time I went with my husband, my sister in law and young nieces (4 and 5 years old). Staff were so friendly and even gave the kids some pencils and paper to draw and colour in .... we were impressed with that! (so did the kids as they were entertained)

The store gets very busy, so you might have to wait a little while, but worth it as meals are yum

Went in to order takeaway and the place was packed out.
The food was so so good. I am usually very picky when it comes to the crispy-ness of batter - and hunky dory was quite crispy!
We didn't have to wait very long for our order even though there was quite a few people ahead of us.
My only complaint was that they didn't accept eftpos payments - rather they had an atm near the entrance.

One of the best fish and chips in town. The fish batter is so tasty and crunchy. The fish is always fresh and the chips are crunchy. This place is always busy and can be quite difficult to get seats on weekends.

Definitely the best fish and chips in Melbs! And I love their healthy options! Their menu caters for everyone. So delicious. And great location too
