We had our wedding at Inglewood Estate in July 2009,two words come to mind.....RIP OFF! We went with the buffet option, and were told we could mix n match from the 3 different buffet menus they had.We were also told we could have photos anywhere on the property we liked. They requested a final meeting exactly one month before the wedding to discuss everything. At this meeting they told us that to mix n match the menus we would be charged the most expensive menu(even though only one item was from the most expensive list)and to have photo's outside the chapel we would be charged $375 as we were not actually using the chapel for the service(which we had notified them of 6 months prior!)(We were going to change our venue at this stage but as it was 4 weeks prior to the wedding we would be up for 75% of the overall cost, funnily enough they request the final meeting exactly one month prior as they know they have you over a barrel) We had put $3000 on the bar as we were told this would be sufficient for 86 guests,at 8:30 they came to us & said it had already gone(2.5hrs into the wedding)(By the way only just under half our guests were drinking alcohol)We (and all the guests)had been noticing all night that their drinks were disappearing after just a few sips, everytime someone got up from their chair the wait staff would come and take their almost full drinks forcing our guests to go to the bar and get another. We told the manager that we were aware of what they were doing and funnily enough from 8.30 till 11.00 the drinks only came to $700.We were also told people could go back for seconds at the bufet but they took the food away so quickly, this was impossible.(In our last meeting with them a staff member actually told us that after a buffet wedding the staff eat really well!!!!!)The reception was to start at 6pm but were told as it was the middle of winter if people want to come in earlier they could, the guest arrived at about 5pm and were locked out forced to stand in the freezing cold and rain, only after half an hour of banging on the door and windows did staff finally let them in.We had to provide our own table numbers, table number stands, menu's,menu stands,Inglewood would not assist us in any way shape or form except to bleed us absolutly dry.We went in search of the left over cake at the end of the night to take home only to be told it had all gone, then was actually found hiding at the back of their fridge!!!!!If you want good value for money and to deal with professionals who will not rip you off DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING AT INGLEWOOD!

Approximate cost: $100

Wow - We had out wedding there and were quite happy. Although we did not have the buffet we opted for the set menu, we found the choices of the food and the portion size fantastic.

In saying this we did have the wedding in 2007 so there could have been a change of ownership perhaps. We have had a few people attend weddings there as well (nothing recent though) and they have never had a bad thing to say.

In regards to the beverage bill, I know most wedding venues have an all inclusive price per head which includes food and drinks, these guys operate a bit differently with a bar tab scenario, however they had a great variety of beets and wines, where you would normally get the cheapest beer, wine etc at other venues. You do have to be prepared to pay for that though.

I'm sorry you experience was not as good as ours - I hope you let them know that, and I would be interested in how they responded. There is nothing worse that it not going right on the day...

We had our daughters wedding at Inglewood in Jan2010 and wonderful came to mind. Great food and high quality drinks. At the end of the evening cake, cards and all the flowes where packed for us. Couteous and friendly staff and the owner ran a great venue.

We had our wedding reception here November last year (2007) - we could not have been more happy with the staff, service and location. Its set in Kangaroo Ground north or Eltham on a small vineyard. You cannot see it from the road so the seclusion is fantastic. There is a lake, chapel and function centre. The food served at the reception was fantastic and the size servings were great - not the usual stingy sizes you get. I would recommend it to anyone planning a wedding. The reception centre is rustic and quite unique - it comes up a treat at night time so if you view during the day dont worry
