What a unique fantastic little restaurant. This is a true hidden treasure. This place is amazing. The food is sensational. The service matches the food and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable off all the modern middle eastern food they have to offer. Great prices and portion sizes as well. If you hve not been you must go. You will LOVE IT!

If you have never been, then I suggest that you give it a whirl. Kamel is an amazing hidden Middle Eastern secret. The menu will set your taste buds into frenzy and the food supports it. We spent nearly 4 hours with friend over a surprizing array of tasty dishes.
The restaurant staff are fantastic and very informative with the explanations of the food that was presented to the table. They also allowed the majority of us to order the banquet/set menu and others to order the few items that they wanted, flexible enough to allow everyone to enjoy the things that they like.
The Cocktails are out of this world, simple but elegant and all with a desert sunset in mind. Some cocktails with a hint of cinnamon and others with vanilla vodka. My favourite cocktail was made with rose water.
The chef “Mark” also made the time to come out and say hello to our table of quests.
I can honestly say well left well and truly satisfied (stuffed).

Banquet $35 - $40
Cocktails $12

I took a friend along to 'Kamel' for dinner on a Friday night. I had made a booking earlier in the day as I knew from walking past the restaurant that it was quite small. The food was absolutely lovely. The pistachio crumbed goats cheese with fig paste and turkish bread was SO nice, as too were the red lentil and chickpea falafels with a salad of quino, cucumber and capsicum with tzatzik. It is a place where you order a few dishes and share them - otherwise they offer banquests for four people or more. The restaurant is licensed and there was a good selection of wines. The service was quite good - perhaps slightly above average. The atmosphere was quite lively given that the restaurant was full and the space not large. Overall definitely worth the visit - I would not hesitate to go there again.

I went here last Saturday with a group of friends and had a great experience. The food is great to share and we had plenty between us. The wine list is quite small but had something that we wanted and the G&T's were very very good (perfect for a hot Melbourne day). They are establishing a small courtyard which looks very enticing.

Greta Little restaurant amongest all the others locally. Has seating out the front, inside, a courtyard and smalls room for a functions or larger numbers. Food was great, the flavour and colours were wonderful. Servings on a set menu for $35.00 a head, was very small. Some friends left hungry. The waiting between each meal was a little long as well. Good selection on the wine menu and two ATM's are near by as well if you forgot the cash.

We had breakfast with friends at Kamel on the weekend. It's a very small place and we took our two kids along, luckily we got the bench seat along the window because there isn't a lot of room for high chairs. The staff were overall quite friendly, the only problem was that the eggs on toast we ordered for the kids came about 5 mins after everyone elses meals. Those with kids will know this is not a good thing, the staff knew we were ordering it for kids so they should have prioritised those meals. Also some of the other meals at the table were much fancier than two fried eggs on toast so there was no reason they should have taken longer. There are certainly better places to go for breakfast.

Today we went to kamel for breakfast, something we do occasionally. And have absolutely loved up until today. However today was appalling. We tried to order and the staff who all appeared so scattered had so much terrible understanding three serves of scrambled egges with sides of avocado salmon and spinach, and a serve of butter beans with turish bread. the waitress hit one of the the people in our party when she couldnt understand the order. This hit might have only been in fun however as customer trying to order with a waitress who couldnt understand the English language this was frustrating and inappropriate. After ordering we sat back to enjoy a beautiful morning only to be interrupted and told that we couldnt have egg white only scrambled eggs... which i might add we had eaten on a number of occasions at kamel before. When we advise the waitress we had ordered this previously she rudely told us that they don't do special orders because everyone will ask for them. So first they take the order then come back and argue that they will not do it and present this information in an agressive manner .. this didnt impress us to say the least. When the food arrived we had to ask for cutlery and salt and pepper... whilst eating we realise that a table behind us had been waiting for over an hour for their food. This just added to the poor experience... and after we finshed our meals the waitress tried to bring us the food for the poor table behind us.. it was more than obvious that the staff had no idea what they were doing. To the point that when we went to pay they tried to under charge one of the people in ou party.. and we had to tell them they got it wrong.

All up the staff were nothing but appalling and should consider getting a good nights sleep before coming into work.

Food is great, perfect to share meals. This way you are able to try more, Very small place and the walls echo. But food is very tasty and they are licensed. Staff are good, very helpful and able to suggest dishes.
