Today I called to the service department a lady answered the phone. I told her that my aircon is not working it’s been a couple of days now. I asked her a favour if I could get an appointment as soon as possible due to aircon not working and my car is under warranty and only 2 years since I bought it. I told her that I have younger children can’t tolerate without aircon due to the weather in Darwin.. She just answered me that’s ok just put your window down how rude. She not really a good costumer service. So now I have to wait till 1st week of June because she said thats ok to drive my your car without aircon.

Nnothing but money hungry rip offs. 3 different prices for the same 30000km service ranging from $250 - $695, got the same service else where cheaper, as for getting general accessories, such as bonnet guard, boot liner etc.., common answer" have to order them" bought all my accessories of ebay 1/3 price cheaper, deliverered in 1/2 time they quoted. Hate to have to order actual parts from them.
Customer service are rude and treat you like a low cost criminal, yet they get upset if you deny to use their services, bad rude and selfish business to deal with not recomended to my friends.

I would advise that no one goes to Kerry's Automotives. I went Kerry's
automotive's knowing it was an official Holden dealership and feeling that
I would be protected from being taken advantage of as a person in a new
city who has minimal knowledge of cars. I dropped off my Holden Combo,
which I had driven last year from Perth to Darwin, at Kerry's Automotive
explaining that it was lacking power and that it had been checked by other
mechanics who could not resolve the issue. I also explained that the van
was not worth much and I would li ke to know if it was even worth
repairing. After diagnostics were conducted the service staff called me and
told me the EGR valve was the issue. I paid over $600 to have a new EGR
valve ordered in from down south. After this I received another call
stating there was still an issue with the power of the engine and could
another hour be used to look for the problem. I was concerned about the
cost by this stage but I agreed. Days passed and I did not receive another
call. I called Kerry's Automotive on the Monday and asked for an update.
Staff stated that the starter motor was now not working and that they had
done a compression test and the engine was only functioning at 70 psi. They
were asking if they should continue work on the car and stating that the
power was better than before. They seemed to be trying to convince me that
70 psi would make for a reasonably reliable engine! I do not know much
about cars but I do know that 70 psi is a worthless and non-functional
level of engine pressure. I had assumed they had done a compression test
prior to charging me over $1000.00 to do work on a car that was worthless.
When I went in to Kerry's Automotive to discuss this I was told that the
EGR valve needed to be replaced before a compression test was conducted. I
have since consulted other professional automotive mechanics who have
confirmed this is not true, the EGR valve does not affect the compression
of an engine and a compression test can still be accurately conducted with
a faulty EGR valve. They seemed to be trying to deceive me about the
mistake made by their mechanics. I have been informed by other
professionals that given that I stated the engine lacked power the first
thing that should have been done was a compression test. This would have
saved me over a $1000 in unnecessary costs for parts and labour on a
vehicle that now does not even start. It is obvious that with such low
engine compression the car is not worth repairing. I came to Kerry's
Automotive Group knowing that it was an official Holden Service Centre and
feeling that this would save me from being taken advantage of. Not only was
an error made by not testing the compression of the engine initially but
Kerry's Automotaive Group have not been willing to come to a fair and
reasonable agreement regarding the cost given that this error was made. No
one at Kerry's automotive was willing to admit fault nor comprise on the
cost. Kerry's Automotive staff were not willing to listen to any of my
concerns. I feel let down by both the automotive mechanics who erroneously
did not conduct a compression test during the initial investigation of the
lack of power and the service staff who were blunt and unreasonable when I
attempted to engage them in a discussion about this error. Kerry's
automotive's remain unwilling to compromise even when Holden customer care
contacted them regarding my complaint! Kerry's automotive still want me to
pay an invoice of $300 on top of over $700 I have already spent and the car
won't even start.

Purchased a used bt50 Mazda that had its Advertisied 100 point safety check and it was handed to us with seat belts that didnt work a bald tyre a universal joint that was ready to fall out leaking rear wheel cylinders and a gearbox that continualy jumped out of 5th. They did fix most of the problems as the car was under factory warrenty still but it was 8 months of hell that involed Mazda Australia and comsumer affiars this dealer likes to put its head in the sand and hope you go away my advice if you have to go there doccument all dealings it will come in handy when they stuff you around and they will. Better still stay away they suck.

Hi Darrylf,
Thanks for the detailed rating. We are pleased to hear that you took the matter further, as far too many shoddy mechanics get away with substandard and dangerous work.

Our last ever dealing with Kerry's as we traded our pathfinder for a Pajero. The Turbo blew on our holiday driving through the Red Centre. With 4 weeks left on our warranty Kerry's told us that it was the clutch that was damaged and that it wasn't under warranty. Other nissan mechanic stated it was the turbo, but we couldn't wait where he was so we managed to limp the car back to Darwin at 80kms per hour. CLutches shouldn't blow at 50000kms, nor should turbos. Service department was rude and failed to contact us in regards to suposed fault. We managed to trade the vehicle although significantly less than what we should have.

Unfortunately nightnik this is the problem with being in Darwin - because there is no competition and they have the monopoly (for now) they think they can treat customers like crap. I hope this was sorted out for you in the end.. We won't be going back after our issues with that place.. We actually go to Paul's Service Centre now for our car servicing. They're excellent if you ever need somewhere!

We fixed our Kerry's experience... we upgraded and bought a mitsubishi pajero. Nohing but wonderful service and not a single problem in over 6 months. Darwin Mitsubishi great to deal with and will never ever by nissan or anything again from kerrys.

Hi Nightnik,
We are gobsmacked at the 'negative' comments surrounding this business and would have to agree with Jamis's comment about them holding the monolopy...for a time. We are always pleased to hear of consumers prepared to 'go that extra mile' to protect their rights and we hope you never have to deal with such ignorant and unlawful operators again.

Another Nissan Warranty issue dealt with in an appalling manner. Aricon not working part ordered. Waited 2 weeks, on day of install of new part were told that it would be after lunch by the time we got our vehicle back... Not appreciated with the sick 2.5 year old with us. 3pm phone call to collect car not fixed as technician ordered the wrong part. 15 phone calls in 15 minutes I got the service manager. I went in to collect my car and was told it was human error. Service all round disappointing. Not much we can do as this is the only Nissan warranty place in the whole of Darwin.

We purchased a car from Kerry's Automotive in February 2009 and after the car was purchased, we have had nothing but problems with the customer service of the staff. We had a water leak in the brand new 4WD and were told to 'suck it up'! Yep horrible.. In addition, we have had the car in around a dozen times for warranty repairs. Even those warranty repairs have had to go back in to be fixed because their service department haven't done their job property. Even when the car has been serviced we've had to take it back in because they haven't even filled in the service booklet.

Our most recent issue is the replacement of wiper blades.. When taking the car in for a warranty issue, we asked for the wiper blades to be replaced... When we went to collect the car we were charged $117 for the replacement! Whilst I understand that this car required the entire arms replaced as a standard procedure, no one bothered to contact us to tell us a $20 job would actually cost us over $100!! When I also called a number of dealers and suppliers, we were advised the wipers also only cost $39.. Definitely not happy and will not return.

We are also submitting a formal complaint to Nissan head office as this has been 10 months of hell with Kerry's.

Strongly suggest you don't go there.

Approximate cost: $47400

Goodluck with the formal complaint. I was told on the phone by Nissan that servicing and charges were the dealerships problem and nothing to do with them.

Car was serviced for 350000km service. Service Person didn't state that we'd be charged an extra $225 for them to fix things already on the service.

Never going back.

Approximate cost: $512

We've experienced the same issues. Nothing but problems with Kerry's!!
