I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful dinner consisting of a port house steak, chicken skewers, Caesar salad, and cappuccino at the Lakeside Cafe establishment. From start to finish, the entire culinary experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Let's begin with the port house steak, which was undoubtedly the star of the show. Cooked to perfection, the steak boasted a tender and juicy texture that made each bite an absolute pleasure. The robust flavors of the steak were perfectly complemented by a delectable seasoning, enhancing its natural richness. It was evident that great care had been taken in sourcing a high-quality cut, resulting in a truly memorable dining experience.

Moving on to the chicken skewers, they were an absolute delight. The chicken was succulent and expertly cooked, with a slight char on the outside that added a delightful smoky flavor. The skewers were creatively presented and accompanied by a tantalizing dipping sauce that provided an extra burst of flavor. The combination of the tender chicken and the delightful sauce made for a heavenly pairing.

The Caesar salad served alongside the main courses was a refreshing and crisp addition to the meal. The fresh, crisp romaine lettuce was perfectly coated in a well-balanced dressing, with just the right amount of tanginess. Topped with shaved Parmesan cheese and crispy croutons, the salad provided a delightful contrast of textures and flavors, serving as a wonderful palate cleanser between bites of the heartier dishes.

To complete the dining experience, a cappuccino was the perfect choice. The rich aroma and velvety texture of the frothed milk combined harmoniously with the robust coffee, creating a truly comforting and indulgent beverage. Served with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top, the cappuccino was the ideal conclusion to a memorable meal.

Overall, my experience with the port house steak dinner and chicken skewers dinner, accompanied by a Caesar salad and cappuccino, was nothing short of outstanding. From the impeccable cooking techniques to the thoughtfully crafted flavors, each element of the meal was a testament to the culinary expertise and dedication of the chefs. Coupled with the warm and attentive service, I left the Lakeside Cafe thoroughly impressed and eagerly anticipating my next visit.

I live across the road from Lakeside Cafe but would drive across Adelaide for better food. You have let me down three times now. Strike three!

We have come here a few times, it is a very pleasant outlook over the lake. They do good breakfasts and are always well patronised. I strongly recommend an indoor seat in winter, it is freezing!

The Lakeside Cafe is a great choice for dinning out. It opens 7 days a week. It has good pizza specials on Mondays and Tuesdays - a large gourmet pizza for only $10.90! The Cafe has loyalty programes too which offer free coffees or free garlic bread. Loved it!

Excellent location for a cafe, always a treat to sit outside and enjoy the view. The food and drink are good quality, not too pricey. They offer a coffee loyalty card, which is always good. Service is always good, staff usually are attentive and make you welcome.

Nice enough little Cafe in Oakden.
Ok for parking when it's quiet. A little carpark to the side but it can be busy when the other shops are open. Street Parking is fine and free, you may just have to walk a little bit.

The menu is extensive!! We just had toasted s/w and wedges which were fine.
My chai latte was excellent and I'm told that the other coffees and milkshakes consumed at our table were of a good quality too.
Service was a little poor though.
It wasn't that busy - average weather on a public holiday and it certainly wasn't crowded.
Service was a little slow and when the orders came out muddled there wasn't much communication or apologies.

No toilet on-site either
Won't be rushing back in a hurry.

They sell duck food for $2 bag which was a nice thing for the kids to be able to do.
There is a large park and duckpond next door (no playground though for the littlie's)

Approximate cost: $15-$25

There is actually a toilet in the building accessed by the carpark side. There is also a playground in the park. If you are walking from the cafe, turn right and walk around the lake. You can't miss it.

Huge range of meals to chose from. Many options in every category: breakfasts, steaks, pizza, pasta, burgers, desserts, salads, kids menu, meat, chicken, seafood and more. Vegetarian and gluten free options. Range of prices from about $10 to $25, depending what meal you order. Lovely atmosphere - quiet, surrounded by park lands. Indoor and outdoor seating. Have a stroll around the lake after lunch. I've been there a number of times and will go again soon.

Owner and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. Food and coffee is consistently excellent. I particularly like the chicken caesar salad. Great value for money too. Very relaxing to sit in the outside area and look at the lake and birds. Would be nice if they become licensed to sell alcohol in the future as a glass of wine would top things off perfectly :)

I go to this cafe quite often for breakfast. They have the best bacon and scrambled eggs I've had at a cafe or restaurant. Also, the service at the cafe is great.
