Wow what a hidden gem, stayed her in our large van for 6 nights mid June 2023. Had booked for 3 nights but park was so nice and so conveniently placed easy walk to nth Ryde metro to go to city, we went to office to see if we could extend firc3 more nights, no problem the manager Nicola I think, was just so friendly and helpful in fact all the staff were from the first time I rang them. I can’t wait to come back. I found the ammenities to be very clean and spacious and the park so lovely and quiet. I am so glad we came and I can be a bit fussy!

Approximate cost: $4500

Easter weekend 2021. Booked 1 van spot & 2 camp sites requested as close together as possible & near toilets due to mobility impaired guest. Called in weekend prior & shown fabulous spots. On check in Thursday sites no where near amenities or van. Had to use car to get to amenities. Toilets/shower blocked & overflowing for over 24 hours. Garbage not collected regularly. Expensive & run down. Amazing location. Very disappointing.

This park in suburban Sydney is hidden away off the main roads. It is run by NSW National Parks as it is in a large National Park. It provides a multitude of accommodation choices in amongst the trees and bushes. A number of toilet blocks are located through the park. There are camping areas, powered sites (some with privacy screening) and many cabins (both 1 and 2 bedrooms). The North Ryde railway station is in walking distance as are the buses to the Chatswood Centre and beyond. Children love the wild life that abound. Koalas and possums and a variety of birds. Playground and camp kitchens and a number of BBQ areas are there. Free access to walk in the adjoining National Park which includes the Lane Cove river. Oh a swimming pool too.
A wonderful place to stay while exploring Sydney

Recently stayed at the tourist park in the camping section for a week long exploration of Sydney by bicycle.

Great location as you are near Sydney but in setting of a National Park. However not quite as quiet as you might think as the park is under a flight path and the planes do start early in the morning. Other downside is there are no eating places within a distance of the park. There is a train station about 700 meters from the park.

Overall a great place to stay in Sydney.

A place for a fun, memorable experience in the outdoors with friends and/or family. You can have a bbq and go for a bushwalk, paddle-boating, kayaking and even rest under the shade of the trees. A lovely place to go for a day out.

Havn't been to this place in years! Had almost forgotten about it. I will check it out again.

This is a great park to drop by for family gatherings or picnics with friends. There's lots to do and plenty of places to hang out. Only inconvenience would be finding nearby toilets. All-in-all the park has lots to do though with walks, a playground and such. Have enjoyed many a BBQ here and it's always nice to go to, provided there is good weather!

This great caravan park is a great park to stay in when visiting Sydney. It has great transport links to the CBD - both train and bus are within walking distance. The office sells transport tickets which is a help.

It also has extensive tourist info. There are cabins of various sizes, powered sites, tent sites, a number of amenity blocks, three camp kitchens, laundries. Also playgrounds. Some sites are grassed and some which have separation zones are levelled gravel. These provide great privacy especially if you are staying many weeks. Visiting our family in Sydney means we are there frequently and we have even made friends with other people in the same situation.

As the park is in a national park no animals are allowed but the park does free night time tours for children looking for the native animals - possums etc.

Wow thanks so much for reviewing! Never knew you could stay over night- especially the night tours, they sound great!

We stayed here for 4 nights as our base to explore Sydney, and were very impressed. the facilities were great, and the camp sites were a really good size. It really didn't feel like you were in the middle of the city, being situated in the middle of a national park, and it was very quiet. There were heaps of possums, brush turkeys birds and marsupials around which the kids loved and a nice little playground too. It's great here as they don't charge extra for kids, very family friendly.

Approximate cost: $39

I love Lane Cove national park- it is a great place for a local bbq with friends and family. I've recently been paddleboating there and the rates are very reasonable- you can rent a canoe or paddleboat for an hour to a few hours! It is fun but the water is a bit muddy when the weather has been wild. They have many barbecue facilities- stoves, shelters and taps. There are many shady areas which are lovely to sit in for a picnic!

Also you should go there a bit earlier to grab a good place near a stove top!
