Laura gourmet cafe and deli is my favourite place to eat lunch in Leura, the food is really good and so is the desserts.

Leura Gourmet Cafe and Deli is a must-visit cafe in the Leura Mall area. I was here on Saturday when everybody was there trying to break the Guinness Book of Records for the number of people doing the Charleston dance at the same time. There was a good energy around town and there was lots of people dressed up. The food here was delicious, and made with lots of country love. The cafe had a fantastic view of the Blue mountains which was coupled with really genuine customer service. My friends and I were quite pleased with our coffee' from here, highly recommended.

My sister and I had just finished a mammoth walk and were starving for lunch. We walked into the cafe to line up with 3 groups of 2 or 3 ahead of us. I asked a staff member packing the drinks roughly how long the wait to be seated would be and she advised me about 10 minutes. So we waited. After ten minutes, we discussed going elsewhere, but were so exhausted and thought most places under estimate, so we waitied.....after another 10 minutes, we decided if we went elsewhere we might have the same wait, so we decided to stick it out in the queue. 15 minutes later we were seated. So we waited 35 minutes to be seated. We were placed in a corner right on the window. Great views, but the sun was pounding through and there were no shades, so with little options of sitting choices we were stuck in the hot sun. I ordered Pumpkin Soup for $12.95. It came with a half long roll (imagine rolls at the football for your sausage) and a large size bowl of soup. Soup was absolutely delicious, but 1/2 a roll just wasn't enough so I was really dissappointed. Plus $12.95 for a bowl of soup I thought was overpriced. I also ordered a banana smoothie for $7.50 which was sensational. Really thick, I had to work to drink it and was just what I needed after my big trek. However.....we were sitting for 15 minutes before a staff member came to take our order and then another 15 minutes before our meal arrived. So in all from queueing to eating it was just on an hour. Absolutely terrible in my opinion. Meals were really tasty and were hot, but overall the experience was very dissappointing. Personally, I would go elsewhere.

Approximate cost: $12.95

Ordered a hot chocolate with chilli and cinnamon and it was disappointing - did not combine well, too much cinnamon. Ordered a big breakfast and it was served up tepid - nobody likes a hot breakfast served cold. The sausage was flavourless, only the scrambled eggs were O.K. It is overpriced here with a croissant with ham and cheese costing 11.90 - only 7.50 in Sydney. Big Cold Breakfast $17.00. This cafe is an overpriced tourist trap that lures people in with the promise of great views. Go somewhere else in Leura. Plenty of choices. They also serve a range of deli goods to take away at the front but I did not try those.

Approximate cost: $17.00

$11.90 for a ham and cheese croissant! True that sounds really unreasonable. Might as well have cooked your own brekkie

Not too many places in Leura village where you can have a nice breakfast, so this place was very welcome. We had the standard big breakfast - sausage, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato. Very nice.

Approximate cost: $16.90
