Husband and I had breakfast here on a week day and found the food to be modern, filling, affordable and most importantly - delicious. The service was friendly and timely. Can't wait to go back and try lunch or dinner.they also have drink specials through the week.

After we finally found the bistro, we were moved to a bigger table as we had more people joining us than originally booked. The owner/manager was very obliging about this. We enjoyed a variety of entrees among our large group and everyone was satisfied with their main courses although nothing was really outstanding. I enjoyed the salmon but like others wasn't happy we had to pay for 'extras' which most places include with the main dish. We waited and waited and waited for our waitress to take dessert orders and eventually had to ask the manager for service. My ice-cream sandwich dessert was delicious but rather highly priced for what it was. Thankfully we had three Entertainment Book Gold Cards between our group which reduced our bill. Without these it would have been a very expensive group night out.

Great to know they take the Entertainment Book Gold Cards, it definitely makes it a more affordable dinner.

A great place where you can either experience loud music at the front bar or sit in the courtyard where it is more quieter and relax. Great mix of people and the service is good. I would recommend eating out the back where it is more relaxing and you can easily have a conversation. I have been there a few times and enjoyed myself.

A pretty cool place in West end... But now i think they better pick it up a bit as there are way more cool places in West end to choose from. Service was little meh and the meals were too. A nice atmosphere, i give it that and also a nice back dining area but not the best place for food, maybe just a drink.

Extensive cocktail, drinks and wine menu. Didn't order any of the cocktails as it was a work lunch with boss.

It seemed to be very busy as it was during the Friday lunch service that the food was a bit slow to arrive. My advice would be to book and order your food well in advanced if you are short on time.

I ordered the smoked trout with asparagus, poached egg and the egg yolk was cooked through out, meant that the food must of been sitting on the bench for a while.

Overall great menu with seasonal freshness and nice relaxing courtyard area.

Special mention to the wait staff who were always on the ball, quick to clear tables and excellent memory as they did not need a pen and paper to take our order.

This place always has a good vibe going on and their food menu is great.
There always seems to be something vegetarian on there.
Friday and Saturday nights a pretty busy but the staff always seem to be on it and service doesn't take too long.

I went to lock n load yesterday for the first time for brunch. The breakfast menu is extensive and is relatively well priced. The food was excellent. The service was a little slow, but it was extremely busy at 10.30 on a Sunday. The waitress kindly mentioned as we were leaving that we should book the day before and we would be able to get a great table in the courtyard. This place has a fantastic ambiance and great food, I'll be back for sure! It's very West End!

I have dined here twice for breakfast. The first time was fantastic and I couldn't fault it. The second time our meals took over 1 hour to arrive, and when they did they were stone cold. When I alerted the waitress 2 new meals came out 3 mins later. The waitress explained that it was a busy time of the morning (we arrived at 9:30 and then was served after 10:30) and it is a shame that customers didn't understand this. Hmmm.... Based on the other reviews this is a good bar, so maybe they should stick to that until they get the logistics of service of meals right.

Approximate cost: $20

Friendly staff who are happy to make any kind of cocktail you want! Always feel relaxed and enjoy myself. Food is good and fresh, roasted garlic the best. When I have people from out of town this is where I take them, a real Brisbane experience.
