Spacious restaurant and delicious food - especially loved the grilled fish. It is fairly expensive though however it is defintely worth the try.

Longrain was a lovely restaurant that I ate in when I was in Melbourne. The food was nice, just very expensive and limited. When I went a few people saw the menu and then walked out.

Large communal tables are a bit award especially when you can't sit across your dining partner and instead, facing someone else while your friend sits beside you. They are far enough to not hear easily but I don't like it. Much more prefer sitting at the bar.

Cocktail/mocktail list is awesome! Food is great. Staff have been good. Was great when we asked for more chilli when eating one of the dishes. The plate was taken away and brought back with the contents topped up and the chilli we asked for added. Very nice.

I'm generally not a fan of shared tables and such as I like my personal space but I actually did not mind being seated beside strangers on the 'long' table. Probably because the interior was just stunning. Clean and very sophisticated. Made for a very special night. Food was more on the pricey end though food was great. Salt and pepper tofu was beautiful.

Delicious Thai foods and the place is actually pretty big, the atmosphere is really welcoming which is a must in all restaurants. Great service! They're really attentive and just there if you need them. The price is a good price but not the best and the foods flavours are great. I would love to come here with my family again.

Longrain is only one of few Thai restaurants that are awarded "hat" from The Age Good Food Guide. I've been there quite often because friends of mine work there as a chef under Martin Boetz.

This famous Thai joint comes from Sydney and has been doing so well in Melbourne for many years. They are specializing something called "Modern Thai food". To me, The menu wise is excellent. The complexity of flavor is suitable for everyone. Dishes like 'betel leaves with smoked trout' or Egg net with pork, prawns & cucumber relish' are something that's rare to find in Melbourne. With authentic flavor and twist of some Western ingredients to suit us Aussies, it's kind of genius IMO.

Service is another thing that other restaurant's owners should learn from them. it's so professional, sleek, and attentive.

The only downside (which is not a big problem) I find is about their food price. It's tad expensive for people like me to enjoy their food more often but then again it's worth every cent we've spent to this lovely fine dining restaurant. You'll get what you really pay for at Longrain.

Undoubtably my favorite restaurant. The staff are attentive, the atmosphere amazing but best of all is the amazing burst of flavours in the array of dishes!

Very spacious room... very cosy ... nice ambience.. Me and my friends ordered the eggnet filled with pork, prawns, peanuts & caramelised coconut with a cucumber relish, duck salad,
Stir fried fish with ginger, snow peas & curry powder and
Jungle curry of Cone Bay barramundi with Thai eggplant & holy basil.

all of the dish were delicious! would definitely go dine there again!

Had the massaman fury and the pork belly, both were delicious. The waiting staff a very helpful too. Seating is a bit uncomfortable, not the most ergonomic to enjoy a meal out. They make a great cocktail too.
