12 reviews about Majestic Pools & Landscapes Pty Ltd

I've had a really good experience with Majestic Pools. I utilised them to complete both the pool and surrounding landscape. It took approximately 9 weeks to build the pool (10x6), install then fence, and complete all the landscaping (retaining wall, turf, garden beds). The water feature was custom built with rocks, and I was worried about the final product with this, but they've done a really good job.

Our story unfortunately echoes a few people below...

We signed a contract in May and still have no pool in mid-January (8 months later), we have now had to engage a lawyer (so perhaps I will update this review on how things actually got finished given that path, assuming we get actually there...). For me, life it is about integrity (doing what you say you are going to do) and then apologies (etiquette) if you do not - Majestic has neither of these.

At one point they did not even come to our property for 4 months to do any further major construction, leaving the yard with a concrete shell and a construction zone i.e. no yard between after concreting and waiting to get to deck stage, let alone pebbling etc... Then we would see them for one stage at a time with typically a one month gap between coming back to do more. I have been around a few pools builds and house renovations in my time with typical contractor behaviors, but this is the worst I have ever encountered. At no point did they come around and give a formal apology for being grossly slow, nor did the company provide a letter of apology. Again lack of etiquette really rubbed salt into the wound (coupled to the arrogance of "we are the best and have been around for decades, so trust us we will be finished is a few weeks" being said every month).

We will see how things pan out in the coming period given our need for lawyer/QBCC/QCAT engagement... The pity is this firm puts many families through the same stress by signing contracts they don't deliver on (this and other forums show it repeated and their sub-contractors mentioned it to us also i.e. they do it to many clients (ironically we actually chose them due to their sales pitch having the timeline we wanted and it obviously hasn't even come remotely close).

Again, for me it is all about integrity in life (doing what you say you are going to do) and etiquette if you don't..

Pool Renovation
5 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 28, 2018
We approached Majestic Pools to renovate our pool and found them to be excellent.
Andrew gave us the time-frame and it was done before the completion date given.
He kept us in the loop the whole time, and went out of his way to accommodate any requests I made.
There was not a week that went buy that work wasn't being done on the pool.
The pool now looks much more modern with the new coping and interior lining.
We love our new pool and would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone looking at renovating their pool.

It has been two years since we had our pool built by Majestic Pools and now is a suitable time to write a review as it is factual, without bias, and hopefully will assist you in making a decision as to which pool builder you engage for your build.

We had Majestic Pools design and build our pool 2 years ago and to cut a long story short we ended up in Court - and that pretty much sums it up.

For those of you mums and dads wanting to build a pool don't get starry eyed by the marketing hype (most awarded pool designer/builder etc) that this company displays and do not, I repeat, do not enter into a SPASA contract.

They are great at designing pools (you can engage a pool design contractor for between $500-$700 and they will come up with a great design for you) But as for engaging them to build it for you - No, No, No!!!

Unless of course you want long, unexplained delays, zero communication, constant chasing up of the company to complete work, the work site being left a mess (I can show you photos if you like), and you want to deal with their contractors (nice enough guys but not your job to manage - project manager was on site for less than 1 hour of the complete project - and that was to do the measure up)? That was my experience.

What should have been a simple, uncomplicated pool build ended up being a frustrating, distressing experience.

We had just completed a full home build/renovation so we dealt with every Trade possible and without doubt Majestic was the worst company to deal with - Unanimously, without question!

If you want to build a pool do so with a QBCC contract and dictate and define the terms (obviously suitable to both parties) as these guys know all of the contract obligations, loop holes, and legal interpretations that exist in a SPASA contract and my experience showed that once they had the contract signed they paid very little attention to completing their obligations as agreed.

Most people only build one pool in their lifetime (and I think this is one reason that this company continues to operate) - so heed the advice of those that post these types of messages.

So hard to know where to start - we had a very short time frame as my daughters engagement party was just around the corner - after a fairly lengthy initial consultation phase, which admittedly I dragged on as well - we then had the founder, Jack, come to visit - well, he pretty much covered off everything we needed to do, how to save some costs and completed a quick redraw and quote to move forward with that night at our home - his son then took over - we were away. I had no problems getting hold of anyone and all workers and staff where professional and efficient. We had a very difficult site to access, but they managed it efficiently and quickly at minimal costs - ultimately we had a beautiful pool, finished and filled a few days before the party - brilliant Majestic and thank-you.

Majestic pools provided us with a fabulous product. They kept us informed on progress of the various stages of the pool build. We were pleasantly surprised on how promptly works commenced and the job was finished on time. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Majestic Pools.

Majestic pools have been wonderful. They saved us from a dodgy pool build with another company and to build a fantastic pool that we have enjoyed using since Christmas 2017.
They were completely professional with great communication. Everything was completed on time and I would recommend them to anyone who asked.

The project took a year longer to complete than we were told, it would. Yes you read this correct - a 6 month pool build and landscaping took 18 months instead of 6 due to Majestic's totally disorganised project management. Often weeks went by with nobody on site and when they did turn up it was usually one lone tradie. Totally disorganised and chaotic, inept project management and the only time they were quick to communicate was for progress payments. A very disappointing process that stole a year of my family's life and completely ruined the whole thing for us. Jobs were left unfinished and issues not resolved. The project manager took no responsibility and it was obvious he simply didn't care. Issues with faulty products and workmanship were not rectified and we were fobbed off by the owner. And now we have issues due to build quality that have to be rectified. I would never work with these people again and would advice you to think twice before you do.

Note that this is just our opinion of our experience. We felt it was very poor from start to finish. We received virtually no communication and many unreturned calls, and thus little if any service. Additionally, construction appeared to not be programmed and hence very slow waiting on subcontractors. Work is subcontracted out, and not sure if this is standard in pool building. For us, the resulting pool is not what we expected. We feel our faults and queries were not addressed. We sought legal advice and as Majestic have in-house legal, was advised it would be far too costly to pursue.

Having conversations with people since, have found similar opinions, and we only wish we knew this before.

Our advice to anyone building a pool, is that it's critical to get a very specific design and quote, but before that, definitely read reviews before engaging a company.
