My girlfriend and I finally got around to trying this fabulous restaurant, I cannot fault it, everything was perfect! Our meals were well presented, perfectly cooked and the flavours were to die for, absolutely delicious. My absolute favourite was the succulent marinated twice cooked coffee pork ribs, this is a must try, irresistible! My girlfriend devoured her kinky chicken. Will have to try their spicy seafood next time as someone on the next table ordered it and it looked sensational.
Friendly efficient staff, pleasant atmosphere and of course delicious food, a definite must try.
I went for the degustation course meal offered by scopoon. 45 dollars per pax, to me it is quite worth it. The entree which is scallop and prawn with truffle oil is nice. The prawn is cooked to perfection and the sashimi grade scallop was fresh as well. The salad and the dressings ties everything together very well. However, the next few dishes like the kimchi rice ball and seafood bag is nothing special. But, next the coffee ribs which is their signature dish is awesome. meat is so tender and so flavoursome. The angus beef is also nice as well. They used the same dressings as the ones for the prawn. As for dessert, just a normal bailey ice cream. nothing fancy. If you are going there for ala carte, try the beef and pork ribs, to me that is their best 2 dishes
Always a pleasure to dine at Mapo! Book to avoid disappointment. It's always busy. A sign of a great restaurant!
Beautiful ambiance, great food at a great price! We love their savory Bibimbap and Sushi Platters - it's simply delicious.
Went there last night with group of 7. There was special "Scott fillet" and indeed it was very special as we waited more than an hour for them to bring out the meals. The service was so bad as the food we ordered 1st... they bring out last. A mate & I still waiting for our meal while other 5 already finish their meal. The food don't taste that great and the price is well overcharge. Never visit again!!!
Approximate cost: $280
My husband took me there for dinner and it was a really great experience. the food was great, priced reasonably and the atmosphere was really modern but also authentic. The waitress recommended the barramundi and she was right, it was one of the best dishes i've had yet.
Fine dining Korean restaurant, located in central Chinatown, provides authentic style Korean food. Choose between Korean barbecue or A La Carte, both equally interesting and of excellent quality. Their raw beef salad is one of my favorite. It is mince beef topped with a raw egg and thinly sliced apple.
the dining area is pretty elegant.
the staff are very well trained and polite.
most of the recipes are based on korean cooking but not exactly authentic korean but creative (?) asian cousine with a good presentation.
i loved the atmosphere more than food.
Approximate cost: $25
Much like all the other Korean bbq restaurants. Think Great River or Korea.
Whereas Korea is more upmarket and Great River panders to everyone as an eat all you want, Mapo is a sort of stuck in between. I remember they did have an eat all you want, but it wasn't as extensive.
I did like the difference. Whereas the other two are gas powered, this place uses coal. A bit non environmentally compliant, but it's a special touch that shouldn't be missed.
Approximate cost: $inexp
will go there one of these days
A high class korean restaurant, which is serves one of the best korean food in adelaide! the dishes are not very authentic/ traditional korean as it is suited to australian local taste, but still very delicious and one of a kind. A must try!
Approximate cost: $30
