We purchased a Marquard kitchen just after the company opened its Lidcombe store. I gave them my own kitchen design which they matched beautifully. The special Atlaantic Blue granite arrived cut perfectly, some cabinet doors were the wrong size and needed to be re ordered. These were imported by air and fitted perfectly.
I provided the sink, oven and cooktop but Marquard provided the Teka brand range hood, microwave and dishwasher. Total cost of the kitchen from Marquard supply was around $15000.
The kitchen is now 12 years old. Some cabinets have delaminated and are splitting for no apparent reason. The granite bench top over the oven cracked despite assurances that Marquards ' special strengthening system' would prevent this occurring. A Marquard specialist came out to fix the cracks, he simply filled them with goo and painted them over.
All of the Teka appliances have failed one by one and local spares are horrendously priced. We would never by Teka brand again.
Marquard is only a granite company, they have an association with a German cabinet supplier that provides the cupboards. We would like to replace the split cupboard doors but don't like our chances.
One really superb thing is the German hardware such as the ' magic corner' and full length pull out cabinet systems, drawer runners etc all of which are Hettich and work wonderfully. Marquard provided these at around 1/4 of the price of buying via Australian distributors.
We initially had serious issues with their original MD but soon sorted him out quite quickly by calling into his office unannounced to nail him. Overall we were reasonably satisfied but we did need to push the company very hard in order to get what we'd paid for and this was in Marquard's very early days. I really sympathise with those who have not received their kitchens.

Ordered and paid a deposit in June 2009. Various fabricated stories since then - damaged in transit from Germany etc. The company now appears to have gone bust (at March 2010). I have no kitchen and have likely lost my deposit. Frank John, the owner, is not able to be contacted. If you are still waiting for your kitchen, I think it's safe to say you will not get it.

Approximate cost: $10,000

Do not get your kitchen from Euro German Kitchens in Mascot, it is one big disappointment after another. Try to get your kitchen locally so you don't have to wait forever to get your kitchen in bits and pieces when they forget to order things for it and then you have to wait again or they get it completely wrong - hopeless.
I wish someone had warned me not to buy from this Company, would have saved me a lot of stress, I'm really disappointmented in this Company.

The new Euro german Kitchens is absolutely hopeless to deal with. You get your kitchen with wrong hinges or hinges that don't work they forget to order thing & expect you to wait then they make excuses when it doesn't show up. They have no attention to detail to carry out works like creating and ordering kitchens for families - Do yourself a favour and find another kicthen supplier to deal with.

Did you continue your contract with Euro German Kitchens in Mascot? (as they had showroom there too) I had the same experience and have reviewed it here: Euro German Kitchens Australia.

We are also unfortunate customers of Marquardt.
If you want an update on what's happening regarding the non supply of kitchens, the company trading while insolvent, the liquidator's report in regard to the investigation of the sale of the assets of Marquardt and the public examination of the director and former director - please phone me 0141423431

UPDATED AS AT 19 AUGUST 2009 -

We ordered a kitchen from Marquardt in November 2008 and it is STILL not finished!! If you read my original review, we chose Marquardt's kitchens because they looked like great quality in the showroom and what we have had installed in our place to date does also appear to be good quality. And that's where the positive feedback ends with this company.

To say the service we have received from staff at the company over the last 9 months has been APPALLING would be an understatement!! I cannot even conjure up the words to describe how completely unreliable and unprofessional the staff there have been.

When we signed the contract with them we were told that our kitchen would be delivered and installed in late February/early March 2009. We were also told that we would be contacted in late January, when they would give us a specific date for delivery/installation. I cannot remember how many attempts at contacting them we made in January before they finally returned our calls/emails in mid-February. At that time we were told that the kitchen was delayed until the first week of April. And so the saga began - in April we were told mid-May, in mid-May we were told late May, in late May we were told late June - 3 months late at that stage.

22 June 2009 - the kitchen, or part of it, finally arrived. One visible wall of the cabinetry was the wrong colour, the tap was wrong and so had to go on upside down (what the??!!), the granite sink was a different colour to the granite benchtop and one of the granite benchtops was cut too short so there is a gaping big whole in our benchtop.....the list goes on.

On 26 June 2009 - I contacted the ACCC and they suggested we send them a final demand letter listing everything we needed to be done, and giving them two weeks to agree to the requirements, which they did. On top of that we gave them a further 6 weeks notice to fix everything - so in total 8 weeks to get everything resolved. They agreed they would complete everything by the end of the 8 weeks, being 21 August 2009.

So, after my 3rd attempt to reach them in the last week to confirm that everything will be done by 21 August as agreed, I received an email from Frank John, the director of the company, yesterday telling me YET AGAIN my outstanding kitchen parts would be delayed. Apparently the ship with my kitchen parts on it won't arrive until at least 8 September but they cannot be certain of that date so it could be later. And even once it arrives it still needs to clear customs which could be many days!

Words cannot express my frustration with this company. As it stands now, its been 41 weeks since I ordered the kitchen and it still not complete.

As such I have lodged formal complaints at the ACCC (they keep a record of all complaints against companies and will take action where there appears to be a pattern of complaints against a particular company) and also the NSW Office of Fair Trading, who have said that they will contact the company.

So who knows when this kitchen will finally be done - I will update my review accordingly. I am hoping legal action might actually spur them to do the right thing and finish my kitchen. Its unfortunate though that it has had to come to this.

Please note: I would give the service a zero star but the system does not allow it.

Approximate cost: $12000 (cabinetry and benchtops only)

We are also unfortunate kitchen customers of Marquardt - if you want an update on the liquidator's intention to examine the director and previous director of the company (whilst trading insolvently) and the sale of the assets of the company one month prior to placing the company into liquidation which may in fact be an uncommercial transaction please phone me 0414423431

We purchased your kitchen in 2006. One of the corner cupboards with the circular shelves (lazy susan) needs a bit of service.

I wish to thank you for your prompt and efficient service. Your contractor, I think his name was Richard, was very professional and courteous. This is the first time, since the installation, we have had a contractor from Marquardt who was polite and patient.

This instills confidence in our purchase of kitchen from Marquardt.

Thank you once again

I entered into a kitchen contract with Marquardt just recently. I have to admit the service provided up to today is to my expectations. I have met the new Owner in their showroom (on a Sunday, wow). Seems that the ownership has changed and things run much smoother now! I am still looking forward to my new kitchen :)

We ordered a kitchen, the designer was good, he did a nice layout for us and helped with the colour and finishes. It takes some time to ship from Germany but it was weeks late and they were always saying it was Germany's fault plus we had to keep chasing them. When it arrived some items were missing and incorrect, holes missing which had to be cut on-site. Some complete cabinets were wrong!
While we were promised the missing parts would come quickly, they took ages, I think they sent them by sea instead of air like they promised..
So in the end it was all done but took a very long time to have it completed 100%.

Approximate cost: $35000

The work involved, design, supply and installation of new kitchen. The work performed included cabinets, dishwasher, sink and tap, and granite bench-top. Appliances which include stove, range hood, fridge and microwave were sourced elsewhere.

The quality of the product is fantastic. The service is however below expectation. After four months, we are still waiting for a replacement cabinet from German and slight modification by the installers to enable us to fit one of our exiting electrical appliance.

We purchased a $30k kitchen which was manufactured in Germany. The quality of the kitchen is good, but we had soo many headaches getting it completed (and its still not 100% complete).

First, the designer selected particular cabinets which were incompatable together (i.e. draws to go under the sink which would not work with the plumbing), the sales guy came out for the inspection to the site, and did not notice the plumbing was incorrect, it took more than 3 months to await cabinets to be remade in Germany and sent to Australia.

The electrical power dock supplied by a third party was not made to their measurements. Again this was another item that took three months to resolve, the replacement part that was sent after waiting two months was not the right part and we had to wait again!!!

The cook top was faulty and had to be replaced.

The oven didn't work after instalation and a repairman had to be sent out.

The list goes on, and you get the message. To get things done I had to jump on the phone and get angry. Which I am about to do again this week to get our final item fixed.

Installation was October last year, and it wasn't until about February we could unpack our kitchen stuff (and not have to worry about the baby playing with exposed electrical cables).

Approximate cost: $30,000
