My husband and I love Maxwell Wines, we have taken many of our visiting family and friends here numerous times. Such a beautiful first class winery. The views are breathtaking and the atmosphere relaxed. The restaurant is wonderful, exceptional food, wine and service. Our meals are always amazing, fabulous steak, squid and the salads are so fresh and delicious. I can't praise them enough. A definite must visit!

My daughter in law had a fortieth birthday gathering here some years ago. It was great

Returned again to taste a few wines and ended up buying the rose which was very nice. Had a coffee here too. Very nice sitting out overlooking the greenery. We also remembered attending a birthday party for our daughter in law here. It was a magical day which all guests enjoyed some years ago.

Not expecting overly much this trip, we had a look in and were pleasantly surprised by this gem. Whites, reds, rose, something a bit sweeter and mead. They have 3 styles of mead, each with a different method of serving. Hot, medium and cold.
Tasted through their short range of whites, didn't really want to try the reds as we're not in to them at the moment. Did the mead too, but our pick of the day was their white frontignac. And so cheap at around about $5 a bottle! What a find!
Also, they do some nice packs, so get in and get good value.

The lady that was serving us stayed with us even though a huge group of 15 came through. That's good service if you ask me.

Approximate cost: $inexp

Great little cellar door in beautiful McLaren Vale. Staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of reds and whites along with a delicious white port. What they are most famous for however is their scrumptious Honey Mead - perfect for winter, especially warmed up.
