I'm an Interior Designer and have dealt with many, many builders in my career. Very rarely have I found a man at the helm of a building business, like Dean. He's an extremely experienced builder himself (not just the 'boss' saying the right words to potential clients!!), very detail orientated and with high standards. Right from our initial contact, communication with he (and his team) was excellent. Their quote process was easy and thorough - so I knew we weren't missing major out of our costings. Dean was also happy to review and answer any of our questions/offer suggestions to get the project off on the right foot. Can't recommend more highly!!

We were so impressed with the quoted renovation of our ensuite by Dean of McDonald & Son Builders that we asked him to renovate our main bathroom. Dean understood what we wanted and why. We wanted to "future proof" our home. Other quoters seemed to just want to build it their way. We wanted wheelie walker access and wheel chair access with no tripping hazards. Dean became our team member as we made our plans. Doors had to be widened and turned into cavity type doors to fit into our older style home. The main bathroom had to have the whole slab excavated and relayed and turned into a shower room. We found our builder Dean, listened to our ideas. He was reliable and so were all his sub-contractors. The quality of the build was excellent. Any last minute changes were handled in a calm and understanding manner. Dean took care of everything and made allowances to fit in with us. He carried out some "little extras" at no cost. His costings were "middle of the road" in comparing them to other quotes. The paperwork and accounting very professional. At the end of the working day everything was cleared away, floors swept and washed. This has been a renovation whilst we lived in the house sharing the space with his team at no inconvenience to ourselves and has been a real pleasure to have undertaken. We would recommend McDonald & Son Builders to everyone.

We engaged McDonald & Son Builders recently to remove asbestos in our home. We found Dean and his team very thorough and organised in the removal. They disposed of the material carefully and our whole property was cleaned up and left really tidy. Would absolutely recommend them and would use them again.

Dean, Vanessa and the team renovated our bathroom recently. From the moment we met Dean, we knew this was a company that we could trust, they had a great vibe. It was important to us that we could trust them to respect our house while we were at work and they were very professional and respectful at all times. The end result was a beautiful bathroom, finished on budget and on schedule, we couldn't ask for more. Now we have them back doing a much larger renovation to our ground level accommodation and it's all going well. Communication and customer service is certainly one of the strengths of Dean and Vanessa and their team.
