The Mitcham Hotel is one of the Icon's of Mitcham that has been around for many years.

The meals there are very good and the childrens room is quite good.

You can also use your Entertaiment Book voucher and get 25% of the total bill and this ensures you have an even more enjoyable time.

The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile which is great.

Over the past month I have been there with friends, and also with my family. Both times were good. The kids meals are very generous, my kids loved the face painting and balloon animals they had on Saturday night. The playground is small but ok: enough for the kids to stretch their legs while we finished our meals. My meals were good on both occasions. Will definitely be back.

Approximate cost: $24.00

Great Pub in the Mitcham area. Lovely space and pleasant to have dinner. I like the lamb shanks when I dined there.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

There is a bar and a sports area where you can place bets. There js also a drivethrough bottle shop is helpful as well.

Approximate cost: $30

Was really disappointed here. We came with 6 Adults and two children. It's a Wednesday, so kids meals were free. I was disappointed that all the children's meals were junk food apart from the roast. I'd actually asked if they had anything vegetarian available for kids but no, they did not. The child's roast was bought out cold (which was subsequently reheated in the microwave). My husband had the lobster chicken which was ok in taste but very small. I had the barramundi, beetroot risotto which was edible but very bland. My mother had the gnocchi which she said was quite nice. Her husband had the duck which was small and gristly and we continued to complain "I'm starving, I'm starving, I'm starving" and continued to eat the other child's fish and chips. We had a few incidents. The batman was nice but the other staff let him down when we ordered our drinks. The syrup had run out and our drinks were subsequently made with soda water. He was waiting on them to refill it, unable to do it himself (leg injury). He apologised and we then got a refund.

They do have a small playground with a free game machine. The kids enjoyed that. They also bought out a bonus show bag for my tot as my nephew had bought one.

Approximate cost: $25-30

Thank you for sharing your experience. I would think twice about eating there now. It is good to have other people's reviews about sub standard food and service; after all they don't charge sub standard prices! Thanks again.

I used to dine here quite a bit but the last couple of visits have been quite disappointing so I wont be returning in a hurry.

It starts in the carpark which is very tight on space. Entering the premises isn't so bad in winter, however in the warmer months you have to walk past the smoking section which isn't ideal if, like me, you're a non smoker.

Once inside you're faced with a large, mostly open plan dining space, and depending on where you're seated you might be lucky enough to have a view of the pokies room!

The food is generally overpriced for the quality and standard of presentation which is unfortunately inconsistent and often below par. That said, my friend was greatly entertained upon discovering that the pastry on the top of my pie was rock hard and experimented with using it as a hat, frisbee, drumkit etc throughout the course of our meal!

If you're into quantity over quality then you will fare better here as the meals are quite substantial.

The atmosphere is a bit lacking - it is basically a large open area but good if you have a large group or kids. Outside in summer is ok - except that even when food is been served there are smokers there. The food is ok although perhaps a bit expensive for the standard. They couldn't make a cranberry vodka when asked but ok for stock standard drinks.

Approximate cost: $20-30

Live not far from here so was hoping for good local pub grub. Was left disappointed. No real atmosphere to the place as it is a large open dining area with a pokies area not too far from it. Food was bearable but nothing great. Had a parma which itself wasn't too bad, the sauce was straight from a bottle though and the side veg was undercooked, almost raw. Won't be going back.

The value for the meals are reasonable, but the service is quite good and the quality is quite good also

I have dined here a bit over the years. The food is quite nice. You need to queue to order, which is normal for a pub. Good steaks. Nice cakes. A few odd occasions they have forgotten/failed to bring my dessert out.
Overall, nice place, nice dining area, nice people.
