Absolutely beautiful food which rivals some beautiful restaurants I ate in in France... this is a must visit.

My wife and I have been to Monrachet a few times but it had been over a year since our last visit. Well we certainly weren't disappointed! There is a reason they only need to open during the week and not on weekends, they are that good! As with every time we have been there the service was faultless and the food fantastic. My ox tail pie was beautiful and just what I needed on a cold winter day and my steak for main was top notch. It's certainly not a place you would go to for a cheap lunch or dinner but for a special occasion or to treat yourself there aren't many better in Brisbane.

Granted this was a cliché, going to a fancy French restaurant on Valentine's Day. But the staff at Montrachet made the event comfortable and enjoyable. Through the amazing food to the impeccable service, Montrachet was a hit! I am by no means a French food expert, nor fan, but this is a must do in Brisbane!

We had a work function here, and were greeted warmly by the staff.

Had a table of 8 and were served promptly for drinks. After we had all ordered from the set menu some fresh bread came out, but without anything to put on it.

Someone at the table asked for some butter, which comes standard at French restaurants, however on closer inspection of the bill at the end of the night (after I paid and left the building), I discovered that they had charged us $10 for the butter, which is not only outrageous, considering they give you the bread for free, but they did not advise at the time that there would be such a surcharge for it.

Entrees and mains were lovely. Generous portions and the table was quite happy with the choices and variety.

The tables were extremely close together, so it would have been annoying for the other guests to have our table of 8 in there, trying to be loud enough for all at the table to hear. I also noticed that they set tables on the bar for the dinners too, which I wouldn't appreciate.

The food was nice and somewhat fancy and it seemed like eating from a bar just cheapened the whole thing.

Overall, meals were great and nothing to complain about, beside the stupid butter charge. Staff were accommodating and helpful with the bags we needed to store during the evening.

The restaurant is not close enough to Brisbane CBD for me to ever consider going back, and cost per head was approx $122 - which is a little high for the location and the space you have to eat your meal.

This seemed to be a super busy place to eat though, so much be quite popular. Just make sure they don't try and charge you for butter if the bread is free and no other condiment is provided!

We visited Montrachet on our wedding anniversary for a special and intimate dinner. The food was lovely and just as expected: rich and full flavoured! Very indulgent. The soufflé entree was divine, as was the gnocchi. We were almost too full for our mains. My fish was lovely yet very buttery, and my husbands eye fillet was top notch. Sadly dessert will have to wait for next time!
As a venue Montrachet is very much French bistro dining. While the bookings are staggered, the tables are very much set directly next to each other so for an intimate meal it is worth asking to be seated on one of the few separate tables (a lesson learnt for next time!) The service was wonderful and very attentive. I was no surprise to find the restaurant booked out on a Tuesday night!

Our waiter Tanya was awesome! She was so friendly and made the dining experience great. The food was pretty good but not the best I have had. I loved the feel of the restaurant and the decor. The only down side would be the tables being so close together the waiter had to come and pull it out so you could get out!

My partner and I had the degustation dinner and it was amazing and quite reasonably priced as far as degustation goes. The service was impeccible and the wine list was extensive. The only down fall is that it's tightly packed in. But other than that it is an amazing experience.

Approximate cost: $120.00

Love it! Great spot with great food and wine and a great atmosphere. Definitely will be back! I went for lunch and ended up seeing the start of the dinner crowd - it's a little hard to leave.

There is very little to fault about this restaurant, the food is excellent, the wine list is amazing, the decor is beautiful and the service is of a very high standard. So popular that they run two sittings every night they are open and you should book ahead to avoid disappointment. One of the best fine dining restaurants in Brisbane, no doubt.
