You pay the agreed amount, set up an account and they pay your bills for you. That's it. It can't go wrong unless you go wrong.

Since I need someone to do this for me it's self-evident that I'm bad with money but I can not imagine how hopeless with money you'd have to be to have experiences like the people here posting 1 star reviews.

You set out an agreement then all you have to do is stick to it. So the only way to get in to trouble is to ring them up and change the agreement, which they will do at any time because it's YOU'RE money.

Just don't call them and say "Give me $80 dollars, right now! It's an emergency!" thereby ruining your bill plan and then write 1 star review stating that they've failed you.

If you're happy to pay the fee (mine is $34 per month) then draw out an agreement and stick to it. All the money stress left my life years ago when I signed up.

Does what it says on the tin.

Approximate cost: $34

Please please please stay away from MyBudget!
I am a past and they destroyed my life for a year causing stress and anxiety and extra money. I did no achieve anything with them apart from more financial stress and my debts didn’t go away. They promise the world, get you signed up and then you can’t even get onto anyone in the “call centre”. I’m writing this because I know what it’s like to be so financially low, you’ll do anything. Their recent adverts on TV bring back all that anxiety and it infuriates me that they are still in business. Please stay away from them. Horrific experience and company that will just take more money from you.

They don’t deserve any Stars!
I was told they have seen it all and they would be able to help me. Living alone, not making much money but working full time and supporting myself. With debts of almost $27,000 plus moving house soon. I was told they would only be able to help me if my rent was $200 where I pay $335 and likely to go up to $350.
I told them I already tried a financial counselor and the lady on the phone didn’t care she just spouted off this 1800 number.
So much for actually giving a damn like they say in there welcome video. They were my last option and being told that they can help everyone is a lie!

I am shit with money. I’m not good at paying bills on time and having any money left over for food and living cost but I do it to avoid extra fees and or disconnection of services.

I employed my budget to help me this year and my money worries have gotten so much worse.

I was told they’d take care of the bills and the money they put in my account for me to spend would be for me to spend on me and what I want. It sounded great. So I sighted up for a 12 month (minimum contract) plan.

I get all the money I have asked for (from my wages and Centrelink) that they said they could work with in this budget.

I pay $65 a week for this service and thought I was finally financially independent.

I was wrong. They have been paying my rent late - by many weeks. They’ve not paid my electricity and gas (seperate) on time which incurs extra late payment fees for me, therefore costing me more.

They are giving me the weekly monies I asked for and they said I could afford at the cost of paying my bills late. Sometimes up to 2 months late.

I am feeling it’s not a company of people but a company run by an algorithm employing people.

Algorithms are important as to is Math. I didn’t employ them for this. I employed their services to help me pay my bills on time and not have to worry about money.

If you don’t have a steady/constant income I would not recommend this company at all.
I am in far more financial pain now that I have paid for their help then I was before.

Yes it may work for some people. It hasn’t worked for me. Especially with this coronavirus situation .

I've never understood... with so many free options, why someone would PAY a faceless company their hard earned money to help budget their cash.
There are free budget apps, banks offer budgeting advice and targets on their banking apps, if you don't have access to apps, even a pen and paper plus some restraint would be better.
Obviously if you're in dire straits please please talk to an actual financial advisor or a government agency to get the appropriate help and advice. Please don't give your money to these people, it's likely they just want your money and don't care how much trouble you get into or your goals, only YOU (and other professionals) care about those things.

Having been a past member I have to say that at start up, the service was a disaster. I went from being up to date (although heavily in debt) with payments, to being in arrears with almost everything.. This seemed to be because My Budget was making sure they took their fees out before paying my creditors! After about 4 months of nightmares, it finally levelled out and ran pretty smoothly.

The biggest thing I would like to highlight, are the exhorbitant establishment fees of $1000 to $1500 which they want paid in the first 6 months of your contract with them! On top of this they were charging me almost $50 per week. When you have a mountain of debt and can barely save, that is HUGE.

To be honest, I don't think I would use them again. There is another company that provides EXACTLY the same service called sort my money, and they do NOT charge any establishment. Just a low weekly fee.

The worst choice we ever made. I wish i could give NO STARS! My budget took their fees first ($5900) and paid less than $10 to our creditors. We had to try and live off $100 per week. 2 adults both working full time & had to drive to work in different directions, pay for fuel and grocery shopping. We always took home made lunches even before we had debts. When we questioned why ceditors were still calljng after 18 months we got hung up on. I was so stressed i couldnt sleep, i saw an ad on tv in the small hours for "Get Debt Free". A Government endorsed financial help service. I called them the next day. I gave them the original info we gave my budget and the stuff that was current at the time. GET DEBT FREE had a range of options they could recommend to help. We were told that we should have declared bankruptcy instead of signing up to my budget. We were told that our debts would take 95 to pay off on what my budget were doing. And that we should have been told BANKRUPTCY WAS OUR ONLY OPTION at the first my budget meeting. It was only through Get Debt Free that we found out about the my budget fees. My budget told us the fees would be $500 per year and would be the last thing paid after all other creditors got paid. And they would bill it at the end of the year. We COULD have been 1/2 way through the bankruptcy period. We tried to get answers ftom my budget. Im not holding my breath. They refusd to return the money "left in our account" - about $400. What they didnt know was as soon as we had spiken to Get Debt Free, we both had our wages put back in our own accounts effective immediately. We hsd to explain to our respective payroll, but they acted by tge end of tge day so my budget couldnt take anymore from us. Our debts were not because we were irresponsuble with money. It came from medical expenses having to be paid as a result of a previously unknown neurological disorder. Ive also met cancer patients and their families who have gone into bad debt from medical bills. Its not always careless spending or gambling that causes unmanageable debt.

My Budget staff seem to be friendly over the phone - email responses very very slow, on hold time is out of this world and very annoying - they have a feature where they will call you back - towards the end of the day !!! when i cancelled my services as i longer needed them, i asked for my surplus money to be returned to me ($650) - of course after their admin fees - i got my money to the amount of $243.00 - i will be seeing consumer affairs and spreading their bad habit all over social media. If their weekly admin fees of $34.oo isnt enough. Yearly admin fee is approx $1768 - imagine a bill you could pay with that.

I have heard several complaints in regards to MyBudget. The biggest from people I have heard that use it is that their fees is their number one priority. It may have been a great service when it first started but now it is bigger and harder to deal with or so my clients tell me. I'm sorry you had this problem
