New home built on reasonably level block with minor modifications to the display home. The company didn't meet expectations with cleaning rubble after completion, had to spend 4 hours negotiating for them to pay for a skip for rubbish removal, we still had to do all the work. There were holes in the roof which were pointed out to them prior to plastering, plaster subsequently got wet and wasn't replaced. Repair job substantially substandard. Of the two baths installed, neither was supported correctly and when filled, a 10mm gap opens up between the bath and the tiles. Mortar for the brickwork was too dry and subsequently didn't adhere properly to the bricks. Reinforcing mesh in the slab is only 2 mm below the surface in some places and is breaking through the slab. Kitchen bench wasn't aligned properly and has allowed for water to be absorbed into the chipboard. Electrical plan agreed upon wasn't what was installed. Flashing on roof didn't sit under the tile above the defect allowing water into the roof space and onto the ceiling, when I went up to repair this also found multiple broken roof tiles. Storm water pipes only 10-15 mm below the surface beside the house. Overall I wouldn't even consider allowing them back in to complete any further repair work after seeing them attempt to rectify a couple of the above problems, instead I spent 7 years repairing as many of the faults as possible. Wouldn't trust them to build a dog house.

If you do elect to have them build your dream home make sure everything is in writing and keep on top of the build. Don’t hand over the final payment until you have sorted out your issues.

Approximate cost: $250000
