Poor value for money.

Very expensive for what you get.

There's too much competition to justify these prices.

Approximate cost: $125

I have been a customer of Oscar Oscar for 3.5 years now. I was kept waiting for 15 minutes while another appointment (expensive hair treatment for a female) was being finished. I understand that one's day can get out of control, but what bothered me was the lack of communication from James.
I waited 17 minutes for him to finish, and it was only once that he said he would be "one minute". The way to solve this is to let the customer know that the stylist they have booked is running late and could they come in 15 minutes later. Simple. I did not appreciate sitting there for 15 minutes with no communication while James promoted his Instagram account to an obviously more worthwhile client. James felt it was unreasonable that I said I was considering walking out after the 15 minutes. I will not be going back.

After trying so many hairdressers I’ve finally found James who actually reminds me of my favourite John Morrey (if you’ve had your hair done by John you get very spoilt also you notice when others do you hair & it just doesn’t hold a candle to his) & I’m ecstatic as he’s a younger version of John who has now retired. He did my cut which was a trim as I’ve been trying to grow it & each hairdresser prior to James hacked into it for no reason. Then he went on to fix the horrible yellow/red blonde into a amazing ash blonde, it has stayed the same colour after a number of washes. He’s also cut my mothers hair into the exact cut she requested. If you’re looking for a hairdresser that makes an effort, cares about his work & has an excellent technique then go see James as he’s a perfectionist.
So happy to have found him!

I had the most aweful experience here. I asked for a cool toned blonde balayage and ended up with a warm toned all over color with really bad roots. I gave them 2 opportunities to fix it and it got worse. They refused to give me any compensation for my time. 350 dollars later im still unhappy with my hair. I will never go back and neither will my friends or family.

First visit - professional, quick but pricey. Second visit.....after nearly 3 hours at the salon had to leave with wet hair and no haircut as had to return to work. But it still cost me $300 plus. Not going back.

Approximate cost: $300

I have been a customer for many years and love the unique experience the Oscar Oscar salons offer. My colourist and I have developed a great friendship over the years and I have the utmost faith in his suggestions and ideas. I look forward to my appointments at the Chadstone salon and will continue to be a loyal customer because they provide such a high level of service. Thank you Nathan and the team and keep up the great work!!

Worst haircut I've ever received. I got a colour, cut and blowwave. I get a centre discount so it would have been $250 but I paid $210. None of the layers are blended, I have random pieces of hair that are shorter than the rest of my hair. And my fringe is way too short. Even after I specified I like to give it a lot of volume. Of course the blow wave with a bit of curl on the ends, hid the mismatch layering until I went home and straightened it out. That's when I saw how awful it was. It'll be at least 8 weeks till it's long enough to fix. So unhappy. And after calling them there was no help given or refund offered.

I had a haircut and highlights done. It cost me $420 which is an insane price for what I got. Although I think the haircut was okay it's not amazing and nowhere near worth what I paid. I felt fooled to buy extra treatments and think I got an unnecessary treatment that I explicitly said no to. There seemed to have been very little communication between staff on the day as well. One girl dyed my hair while another cut it and they did not collaborate. In the end much of my highlighted areas where actually chopped off, which means I paid a shit tonne for nothing. The finishing and styling was extremely half hearted as well and they didn't have enough curling irons to go around. My bob style cut was curled with a wide straightener. Even I know you won't get a good result with that. Urgh, I feel mad at myself for going to Oscar Oscar because now I will have to eat pasta for a month.

Approximate cost: $200
