Poor value for money.

Very expensive for what you get.

There's too much competition to justify these prices.

I have been a customer of Oscar Oscar for 3.5 years now. I was kept waiting for 15 minutes while another appointment (expensive hair treatment for a female) was being finished. I understand that one's day can get out of control, but what bothered me was the lack of communication from James.
I waited 17 minutes for him to finish, and it was only once that he said he would be "one minute". The way to solve this is to let the customer know that the stylist they have booked is running late and could they come in 15 minutes later. Simple. I did not appreciate sitting there for 15 minutes with no communication while James promoted his Instagram account to an obviously more worthwhile client. James felt it was unreasonable that I said I was considering walking out after the 15 minutes. I will not be going back.

After trying so many hairdressers I’ve finally found James who actually reminds me of my favourite John Morrey (if you’ve had your hair done by John you get very spoilt also you notice when others do you hair & it just doesn’t hold a candle to his) & I’m ecstatic as he’s a younger version of John who has now retired. He did my cut which was a trim as I’ve been trying to grow it & each hairdresser prior to James hacked into it for no reason. Then he went on to fix the horrible yellow/red blonde into a amazing ash blonde, it has stayed the same colour after a number of washes. He’s also cut my mothers hair into the exact cut she requested. If you’re looking for a hairdresser that makes an effort, cares about his work & has an excellent technique then go see James as he’s a perfectionist.
So happy to have found him!

I had the most aweful experience here. I asked for a cool toned blonde balayage and ended up with a warm toned all over color with really bad roots. I gave them 2 opportunities to fix it and it got worse. They refused to give me any compensation for my time. 350 dollars later im still unhappy with my hair. I will never go back and neither will my friends or family.

First visit - professional, quick but pricey. Second visit.....after nearly 3 hours at the salon had to leave with wet hair and no haircut as had to return to work. But it still cost me $300 plus. Not going back.

I have been a customer for many years and love the unique experience the Oscar Oscar salons offer. My colourist and I have developed a great friendship over the years and I have the utmost faith in his suggestions and ideas. I look forward to my appointments at the Chadstone salon and will continue to be a loyal customer because they provide such a high level of service. Thank you Nathan and the team and keep up the great work!!

Worst haircut I've ever received. I got a colour, cut and blowwave. I get a centre discount so it would have been $250 but I paid $210. None of the layers are blended, I have random pieces of hair that are shorter than the rest of my hair. And my fringe is way too short. Even after I specified I like to give it a lot of volume. Of course the blow wave with a bit of curl on the ends, hid the mismatch layering until I went home and straightened it out. That's when I saw how awful it was. It'll be at least 8 weeks till it's long enough to fix. So unhappy. And after calling them there was no help given or refund offered.

I had a haircut and highlights done. It cost me $420 which is an insane price for what I got. Although I think the haircut was okay it's not amazing and nowhere near worth what I paid. I felt fooled to buy extra treatments and think I got an unnecessary treatment that I explicitly said no to. There seemed to have been very little communication between staff on the day as well. One girl dyed my hair while another cut it and they did not collaborate. In the end much of my highlighted areas where actually chopped off, which means I paid a shit tonne for nothing. The finishing and styling was extremely half hearted as well and they didn't have enough curling irons to go around. My bob style cut was curled with a wide straightener. Even I know you won't get a good result with that. Urgh, I feel mad at myself for going to Oscar Oscar because now I will have to eat pasta for a month.

Always super impressed with the service at Oscar and Oscar in Chadstone. Staff always so helpful right from when you make the initial booking, they are so flexible in order to accommodate times to suit my timetable. Whether I have a colour, cut or blowdry, I am always so satisfied with the result. Nathan is a great captain of this team. I will always return, and I have recommended Oscar at Chadstone to many of my friends.

Appalling customer service!! I would encourage management to invest in further training and value-oriented work. I'm a medical professional and called to cancel my appointment because of unavoidable circumstances. I was told I am a "time-waster". Won't be returning.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE- i have never written a review before but felt compelled to do so after such a horrid experience. i booked here as a treat for the races with a girlfriend of mine. i had a photo of what i was after and the rude woman took it upon herself to do it entirely different style saying "it would look better" - it didn't. In fact, i almost re-did it myself it was so poorly done. Gutted. She made zero conversation with me the entire time and rushed me through. I was offered a cup of tea or coffee to which i accepted, and it never came. To really top things off, i checked the pricing before hand and new i was up for $80-$100. But to my absolute shock, i stood there horrified at my hair at the end, as she requested i pay $130 for the style. She did nothing else, didn't even wash it. So unbelievable disappointed. Will never go back and would advice others to do the same.

I was really hesitant to return to Oscar Oscar Chadstone, as my last two experiences in their salon had been horrendous. The first time I visited I had a pretty shoddy hair cut and the second time I visited only to get my hair curled for my birthday (no shampoo or blowdry) and I had the rudest girl ever lecture me on dying my own hair (I was a broke naturally blonde Uni student who dyed her hair black, but hey that was my choice) and gave me general snark and horrible customer service from start to finish. The third time I returned was last Saturday. Due to my past two experiences I was VERY reluctant, but I was attending my first black tie work event (yay for graduating Uni) that required everyone be dressed to the nines. I was getting my makeup done at David Jones Mac (also AMAZE) and wanted a salon close by, so I booked the appointment hoping I wouldn't get any lectures since I no longer dye my own hair and have gone back to my natural blonde self.
Anyway I'll stop rambling because this review isn't of me, it's about the AMAZING Lisa who styled my hair for the event and all the other lovely staff I encountered that day. I guess the third time is the charm because they completely nailed it. Lisa was so lovely and welcoming, it was like having one of your best friends do your hair. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I took in a photo of my dress and said all I could be certain of is that I wanted my hair teased to the heavens. She did exactly that and just blew my expectations out of the water. My hair looked unreal, and whenever I need to go get my hair done for an event, I'll always make sure I book in with her. It cost $115 for a wash, blowdry and styling but it was worth every penny. If you need your hair done for a ritzy event, Lisa is your go to girl. She has amazing skills and a really great veggie burger recipe! Thanks so much Lisa, you're an absolute gem!

Great salon. Samantha did my cut & Nathan did the colour. I have fine thin hair & am never happy with the way it looks. Well, I am now. Samantha & Nathan really listened to what I wanted & were able to interpret my ideas exactly. Very friendly professional salon, A little pricey, but it was worth every cent. Usually when I get a blow dry it has flopped by the end of the day. But it is now 3 days later & I still have lots of body. I couldn't be happier. Thanks guys.

My experience with Oscar Oscar Chadstone has always been top quality even though I've heard negative feedback from a few friends. However, I get my hair cut by either Jacky or Oscar himself and the style is exactly as I asked for but better because they take everything into account such as your face shape, hair texture and personal style. They styled my hair after the blow wave and it looked amazing when I left the salon. Not to mention the hand massage you're given while your hair is being washed - luxury! The only downside of Oscar Oscar is the price, I paid $150 for a treatment, hair cut and blow wave by Jacky. Really steep if you're just looking for a trim, but totally worth every penny if you need your hair in tip top condition for a special occasion.

The first time I went to this place it was amazing. The service was great. Hair cut great, color great, service faultless. The second time I had a rather rude girl who didn't cut my hair the way I asked, they offered to fix it but I didn't take up the offer to go back due to time commitments. The most recent time, I clearly asked for a semi permanent color multiple times and was given a demi color. I did not want a demi as it is more damaging to the hair. The hairdresser also charged me to colour my long hair when he could of cut it first and the coloured it. I got my hair cut from long to shoulder length. I also got charged $30.00 for a treatment(fine) but another $5.00 for some booster. I don't know what this booster was as my treatment consisted of a young guy spraying something in my hair putting a hot towel over it for 1 min and rinsing it out. A big thumbs down for me.

Approximate cost: $230.00

Just in response to your negative feedback, as a hairdresser myself i can assure you a demi colour is a semi permanent colour however it is a lot more nourishing and kinder to your hair and the booster is to ensure that the colour will stay longer and help to add some shine. Just to clarify the facts for you.
