Yum yum and yum. Great variety. And friendly staff,

Having lived in the Adelaide Hills quite a few years ago I looked forward to a return to one of my favourite bakeries, especially to have a Bienenstich (Bee Sting). I was very disappointed to find that there were none, after all we were at Otto's in Hahndorf. We later discovered that Otto's had been sold some 12 years previously and the owners none ran the Hahndorf Kaffeehaus.
However we did enjoy our lunch sitting outside on the verandah. My husband and I both had a chunky pepper pie which was indeed delicious with large chunks of tender meat (no gristle) and just the right amount of pepper. We shared a streusel bun which was average.
There is a huge selection of pies, pasties and slices. Rolls and sandwiches are also available and are freshly made. The variety of cakes is very good though more Australian inspired and minus the Bee Sting.

We finished off our trip to Hahndorf with a visit to Otto's, had to purchase a few sweet treats for later that evening as we were having friends over. We ordered a mixture, the vanilla slices and eclairs were extra delicious, we will be purchasing them again. I have enjoyed their pies and sausage rolls on ocassion, we will be returning soon.

I picked up a couple of pies and some vanilla slices on my way home for the family as a special treat. Was quite lucky as I purchased the last of the vanilla slices for the day. My family were very appreciative, enjoyed by all.

A visit to this bakery and cafe for take home slice of apple strudel and some potato cake (I think that is what it is called). Always delicious and a must for my cake bins. Have enjoyed baked items from here for many years. An old favourite.

This german influenced bakery and takeaway store has mouth watering baked items and good coffee. Purchased great pie and cheesecake for lunch when on way to riverland. Always enjoy food from here.
