Food is okay, price overated. Can do better.

Great Malaysian food for the price. My sons are addicted to it though so I'm wondering if there's MSG in the food. None-the-less, the freshly made flat bread is a treat with curry and the meal portions are generous. The only thing that I would add to challenge the set up is - why don't they offer a fresh raw salad? In summer you may not want to eat all that hot food...

Food is awesome and price is just as good :) Love the noodles and also the curry chicken with rice. Try an iced milk tea, it is just lovely. Prawn dumplings make for a good appetiser :D

I was actually very surprised - the pictures on the menu didn't look overly appetising - but my house mate assured me it is a great place. We have gone back several times now, and I think I have tried most of what the menu has to offer. It is often very busy, but the food comes out within minutes. I wouldn't advise the drinks, as they are too sweet/sickly.

A great place to try Malaysian food. Also has an impressive selection of drinks and deserts. Many traditional Malaysian.
Function rooms avail for hire. Outdoor cover/undercover seating.
Favorite thing about the biz is how to order. Pen & pad to jot down my orders. Once ready.. I press the buzzer to get the attention of a waiter. Very prompt service

Approximate cost: $15

I went here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The food was really fabulous (it was my first time there) but the customer service was appalling; I had to chase the waitress a couple of times about the meals and etc.

The meals and drinks were reasonably priced and I had a good time there (the running about was a minor problem).

Approximate cost: $15-$20

Good and authentic Malaysia food. Service can get a bit hectic especially when the place is very busy, but overall good family dining restaurant. Been back a few times and food quality is always good. Please keep it up!

A great family restaurant. And indeed, very well priced especially for the budget-conscious.

Family friendly Malaysian restaurant, good food with reasonable price. Quick service. Anything we order, we love... Good selection of desserts, yummy! Have some vegetarian selection, I haven't tried yet. Have kids room, with tv and some toys...enough to occupy my kids while we finish our meal. Recommended!!

Reasonably priced, good food, good service. It's very clean because it's still a new place, and time will tell if the cleanliness continues. There's a half-open kitchen so you can see the chefs making the breads. It gets very, very crowded on weekend nights so I'd recommend going a little early to beat the crowds.

There's quite a variety of dishes on the menu, but if you're not familiar with Malaysian cuisine, every dish comes with a picture! As well as the obligatory what's-in-the-dish description, of course.

Approximate cost: $10-15

Food: Having eaten from the best hawker stores in Penang and many Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne, I was pleased to have a fairly authentic experience at Papa Rich. Serving sizes were reasonable for their prices. I had the Ipoh Hor Fun (flat white noodles with creamy egg gravy) which hit the spot for texture, consistency, and flavour. I'm looking forward to going again to try the delicious looking desserts!

Service: I like the idea of writing down orders on a pad as it reduces the chances of miscommunication. Also, rather than raising your hand and hopelessly trying to establish eye-contact with a waiter, you can simply press a button on the table and be attended to. Generally staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.

Ambience: Busy and bustling, as any successful Asian restaurant would be. Furnishings are clean and trim with classic dark wood. Menus have been masterfully created with professional food photographers, making choosing your dishes and drinks a pleasant experience. There is even a toddler play area which was great for our active two-year-old!

Overall: Papa Rich met all of my expectations and more, the only reason I'm holding back one star is keeping in perspective higher class restaurants which provide over-and-above quality of food, service, and ambience, but sacrifice on price.

Approximate cost: $11
