I've been here about 3 times. however, I'm not rushing to go back.
Its not the food, thats well thought out, well executed.
I just find this place a bit cold & lacking in any welcoming vibe. Its reflected in the decor & in the wait staff. Whilst they are professional, they are not particularly welcoming, hence, a big reason why I'm not rushing back.

I work near Pearl so was excited when the cafe opened. I've been here three times now and have been disappointed or annoyed on each occasion.

The service is flat out rude and the staff uninterested. I asked for tomato to be removed from a roll once and was told that they don't make alterations to the menu - all they had to do was pick out the tomato from a pre-made roll!

I also find the prices - high even for this quality of food.

All in all I have stopped trying to like this and decided to just never step foot in the door again. The place takes itself a bit too seriously and needs to remember it's a soup and sandwich joint just like all the others...

Having eaten once at Pearl Restaurant to which this cafe is related I had great expectations of the cafe. It is a very trendy looking place with lots of hard surfaces and clean lines. The menu sounds interesting and the first time I ate there I enjoyed my meal-a vietnamese style prawn salad, although I found the portion size to be small. However, when I returned, the prawn salad was no longer on the menu, and I so ordered a pasta dish with zucchini. It was almost inedible. Not only was it too salty, the pasta was swimming in oil. The only redeeming feature of that meal was the Portugese custard tart I couldn't resist taking away, which was delicious. I found the service on the two occasions I was there to be a bit offhand and lacking in warmth.
