This review is for Tribeca Dental, East Melbourne VIC

I have long had troubles with my teeth and had developed a fear and loathing of dentists over the years, so when, Ervan who owns and runs Tribeca, was recommended to me by friends in London where he used to live and work I took their recommendation.

From my first visit to him I have been thrilled with the care and service and the quality of the treatment I have received and I have referred several friends there who have all had the same experience.

He really is all about your oral health - and definitely not about doing work for the sake of it. I was having issues with what I thought was a tooth problem which I feel any other dentist would have said I needed work done but here I was told how the problem really lay with my gums and after a good clean was sent away to work on my gums. Wihtin a couple of weeks the pain went away and I'm happy to report that 2 years on I have great gum health and have been working my way through replacing my metal fillings with white ones (my suggestion not theirs) and I've received consistently warm, friendly service and great dental care.

I would recommend Tribeca to anyone but in particular anyone who has had bad experiences with dentists in their past.

This review is for Somatic Health Care, Prahran VIC

I was recommended to Somatic about 4 years ago when I injured my back at a Body Pump class (never again!) and I've been seeing Antony Zandes ever since.

My initial injury was really only the end of the story with my back, there were several underlying problems that it too a while to work the kinks out of and I can now honestly say my spine has never been as healthy as it is today.

They're a small practice who really care, great quality team - from Daniella who is friendly and efficient on reception through to Bryan Kent the myotherapist who really gets to the source of your troubles - I feel a little beaten up for a few days after a session with him but then I'm magically feeling fabulous again!

Antony is very thorough, caring and takes the time to understand your spine and work on you as an individual. I can thoroughly recommend this team.

Nespresso changed my coffee life! The machines are great quality (I have the Lastissimo) and the coffee is incredible - better than most coffee shops and much more convenient. My morning ritual now inlcudes making a coffee to drink in the car to get myself kick started for the day :)

My favourite is Arpeggio but the Decaffinato Intenso is a great alternative for later in the day.

This review is for Rokk Ebony, South Yarra VIC

I love Rokk Ebony! I came to Australia from the UK about 5 years ago and bounced from one awful hairdresser to another (all recommended I might add!) . My beautifully coloured, styled and groomed hair had gone from fabulous to hideous at the hands of these people - they had all bleached it (even thought I'd requested not to!) so to arrive at Rokk Ebony three years ago was like coming home!

I went to them initially because of the awards the salons had won - I was expecting somewhere that was probably too trendy for my liking but I was pleasantly surprised. The team is friendly and efficient and very talented. My hair is back to being my pride and joy and looking amazing.

I can recommend Stevie and Anna from a colouring perspective and Moet gives a really great cut - but I'm not revealing who I see as getting an appointment with him is challenging enough without creating more competition!

I have also visited the Toorak salon and found the quality there to be just as high, they're worth every penny. In a city full of poor hairdressers Rokk Ebony is a shining light - I love them!

Wow, I've had very different experiences of this place compared to the first reviewer.

We've eaten here many times and always found the food to be outstanding. Sunday Yum Cha is especially good because of the different dishes they offer - the chilli green beans are one of the best Yum Cha dishes I've ever tasted.

I do agree that the service isn't the best - not very attentive or friendly and getting another drink ordered can be a bit of a wait but for us the food outweighs all this.

I also agree that the duck is a little underwhelming for something they tout as their specialty.

Overall we love it and keep coming back

This review is for Pearl Cafe, Richmond VIC

I work near Pearl so was excited when the cafe opened. I've been here three times now and have been disappointed or annoyed on each occasion.

The service is flat out rude and the staff uninterested. I asked for tomato to be removed from a roll once and was told that they don't make alterations to the menu - all they had to do was pick out the tomato from a pre-made roll!

I also find the prices - high even for this quality of food.

All in all I have stopped trying to like this and decided to just never step foot in the door again. The place takes itself a bit too seriously and needs to remember it's a soup and sandwich joint just like all the others...

This review is for Charcoal Grill On The Hill, Kew VIC

verified email - 06 Jun 2010

Charcoal Grill on the Hill is truly awesome. The steak is melt in your mouth tender, it's serviced with good fries, a yummy cabbage salad and cos lettuce - no choices, no expensive side dishes to bump up the bill - just simple fresh food to accompany the steak which is really the star. Be aware when you say how you would like it cooked that unlike most places I know they really do cook it as you like - a rare steak here is definitely rare!

The service is efficient and friendly without being stuffy. The staff have remembered us right from our second visit - and remembered details like the wines I enjoy which always impresses me.

The wine list is genuinely awe inspiring and best of all for me their list of wines by the glass includes some of the stars they sell. Usually wine by the glass is the volume stuff or the cheap end of the range but here the list changes monthly and the incredible wine knowledge of the staff means they've put together a range that begs to be tasted. I will always take Mark's recommendation on what to drink, he's always spot on!

Charcoal Grill is really in our top 5 restaurants in Melbourne, we love the staff, the wine and of course the food! Ooh and try the skinless sausages to start, they are soooo tasty!

We're Plume addicts! Having moved from the East to the West last year we bemoaned the loss of great Yum Cha as we're both addicted.

We tried Plume on a visit to Highpoint and now we're hooked. The service is second to none - you can sit down and have 5 carts waiting to serve you, even on very busy Sundays like today it's service is excellent.

We've eaten there in the evening and found it quite pricey but the food was excellent quality and really tasty.

This review is for Andrew's Hamburgers, Albert Park VIC

We're now regulars at Andrews after a burger obsessed friend dragged us there for the first time about 6 months ago.

The service is excellent, the food is fresh, tasty and well cooked. I've become addicted to 'the lot' having been persuaded to try - I have beetroot added which makes it even more sensational.

I'm originally from the UK and one of the things I adore about this country is that places like Andrews still exist and thrive.

Excellent burgers, great chips and friendly service - an all-round winner!

We tried this place for the first time on Friday and just loved it! The food was fresh, very tasty and the service was outstanding. They didn't have a table for us when we arrived (without a booking) so we were seated on the comfy sofas and bought menus and checked on regularly to let us know when a table would be ready.

I managed to spill a martini the bartender had carefully prepared and the manager just asked him to make it again for me - I've never seen anything like that anywhere before!

They had a great singer who matched the mood of the place. For a Friday night it was refreshing to find somewhere that wasn't super noisy or crowded where the staff were friendly and fun, the service great and the food excellent. We spent $25 a head on three different starters and a main course between two.

Really don't have anything bad to say about them - we'll definitely be back!
