BEWARE: Inexperienced vets, misdiagnosis, mistreatment, demanding expensive fees upfront, will kill your pet if ongoing further money is not paid - extremely hard to get your pet returned not further hurt.

We took in our cat at midnight, who looked very misshapen and was falling.
The young vet on duty diagnosed him as probably constipated and recommended a drip and observation that night. This cost $790 but we wanted him well. They shaved his two front legs, instead of the one leg needed for the drip. He spent a terribly uncomfortable night housed with only dogs, no other cats, and the next day they demanded more upfront money, would not give a receipt after we paid, only the unreadable carbon backcopy, as they said they had to keep the original.

Even after paying, I had to threaten them to get my own cat out of there. The vet who carried him out to me just said 'I think he has a problem in his back legs.' We knew that and had paid almost $800 for nothing but further injury to both us and our cat.

At my own vet, x-rays were made, which showed his spine had actually been broken in two places. Our vet told us also that they must not have known how to find a vein to unnecessarily shave both front legs. At our own vet with genuine care he recovered.

At Pet Emergency in Dandenong Road my cat was misdiagnosed, mistreated (shaving extra leg, no comfort overnight) and illegally not even given a legible receipt.

We were lucky to get him out alive, in a place that only cares about money, (charging more than four times what our own vet charges) and does not even provide experienced or knowledgable vets.

Our own vet advises it is better to stabilize overnight and take to our own vet on opening hours.

My friend took his cat, having breathing problems to 1103 Dandenong Rd. They took his cat, demanded $1500 for tests and an operation they said they didn't know would work, and said to him he paid then or they would not give his cat back. He said he didn't have that much money then, it was the middle of the night. They then killed his cat because he could not immediately pay. He still has trouble telling me about it.

Rude staff, and not very helpful or compassionate to owners. Driven by money and not there to help our animals.

Money hungry opportunists. Unethical immoral and shows no empathy towards animals. His main concern is to make money at any cost. Surgery for my puppy resulted in an infection due to the plate inserted in his leg and was advised further surgery was required to remove plate that he wanted me to pay for. Avoid at all costs

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Beware undertaking any services here. Be prepared to be double and triple charged for services. Any estimates given will be WAY over the range given. Despite what they say, post operative care will not be included due to so many exclusions which they never mentioned, like simple bandages. That's right, they want to charge for these. They will also not sedate the pet to undertake post operative care like other Vets would do. This is also a chargeable extra.

Beware getting on any payment plans. Interest charges are higher than credit cards. They don't tell you this until they sign you up without your permission. Though I was able to get out of this quite easily as i never agreed to it.

Dr. Chris is a low-life parasite who takes advantage of the situation you're in to take you on a very expensive ride. Shame on you.

As other reviewers here have stated, this place is a money hungry facility. After spending more than $8000 here, i've taken her elsewhere to continue treatment.

Pepa the whippet was lame for four years and numerous specialist surgery elsewhere failed Chris Preston was our last hope, we were resigned to amputation (recommended by numerous vets) after an outlay of approx $14,000.
On our initial meeting Chris told us he would fix her, no tales of tiny bones and paper thin skin just confidence and a willingness to work with her personal difficulties and now after 'ankle fusion' and a trouble free rehab she is walking normally has been cleared for running and what else does a whippet want but to run zoomies!!
I would recommend Chris to anyone and everyone - he is a caring, skilled and brilliant vet.

My gorgeous puppy farm rescue Hudson was experiencing severe pain from spinal disc bulge in his neck. He was in so much pain and wobbling around like a drunk dog. I was a mess ! Dr. Chris Preston saw Hudson and instantly suspected what the issue was and had a scan straight away, he had a compressed spinal cord. Chris operated on him that day. Chris was very empathetic as I was quite upset at the time. 10 days later he is walking around quite well and more importantly not in pain. I would like to thank Chris for his great surgical skills and friendly manner.

My beloved old kelpie, Darcy was experiencing severe pain from spinal disc bulge. Laser therapy and pain meds from our vet were no longer helping so I took Darcy to see Dr. Chris Preston for a CT myelogram. Darcy had a severely compressed spinal cord. Chris explained everything in detail and operated on my boy that day. I collected Darcy the next day and was given lots of info on how to assist his recovery. One week later and my Darcy is walking well, happy and not in any pain. No off leash walks for a while but his recovery is already fantastic. I am so grateful for the skill and care that Chris and his team have provided. It was totally worth it and I would not hesitate to use their services again.

Dr Chris Preston and his team , What can i say . We have been to this clinic on 3 occasions , Firstly after one of our dogs was attacked and needed emergency surgery to save her Life . Second time for a consult . And just recently our male American Staffy had to have knee surgery . We were at a point were it was not looking good for our dog and had tried what we thought was everything . He was crawling could not walk . We decided to get in touch with Chris Preston at the surgery , Not only did he see Spike that day , Surgery was performed immediately . Chris explained all costs and the procedure beforehand . We were given all options that we could do . Chris called us after the surgery and gave us an update . 7 days later out dog is up and about on the road to recovery . I would recommend this clinic to anyone that needed Emergency or Specialist treatment . The staff are friendly , kind and caring . First and foremost what these guys do at this clinic is amazing . Chris Preston and his crew do so much for so many pets and their owners .We will be forever grateful for what they all did for us .As for costs we were given a quote , the op actually cost less , we were given a refund immediately . We are blown away by what this clinic has available to pet owners and the expertise of these people . They are the best .
