Polly is one of my favourite bars when I'm feeling like splurging. The cocktails are reasonably expensive but they're well worth it - quality ingredients and well-trained bar staff can make amazing drinks off their extensive cocktail menu or to order, they also offer a range of absinthes, beers, wines and liqueurs. The food is more reasonably priced and they offer decent portion sizes. The atmosphere is really what makes Polly special, it's small, comfortable and classy - a great place to unwind with friends. However it is quite popular and I've never gone there on Friday/Saturday nights because I've heard it gets crowded, which I think would ruin the experience a little.

Polly is hands down my favourite bar in Melbourne. It's elegant and refined looking, but has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you go early in the week when it's not too busy, the bar staff will even make up a special cocktail for you with whatever your favourite flavours are. The cocktails are pricey, but they are pretty much the same price as every other comparable bar in Brunswick Street. I just love that luxurious and decadent feel that Polly exudes.

I usually go here to have a few drinks with my mates. I've never ordered food. The place has a classy feel to it. You can tell by simply looking at the front section, and the sliding the door open reveals a dark, vintage but welcome interior. I thought the drinks were a bit overpriced but I guess they want to market themselves as classier than the other bars you find in Fitzroy. Overall, a nice place to chill out if you're not poor like me :)

The cocktails are amazing, the staff are very skilled and helpful, the finger food is cheap and the atmosphere is great. No silly kids there either, which is great for those of us who are over 25. From the red velvet baroque furniture to the cool bar stools and beautiful chandelier, the whole place is just stunning. I just wish I could move in!

Approximate cost: $18

first impression on polly bar, was wow. its like walking into a 1950's house, all the decor is vintage 1950's decor and they make a mean cocktail. go and have a look for yourself, and you will be impressed
