I visited here with a group of friends for dinner. The bar area was very crowded and loud, but the dining room was spacious and quiet. The table service was great and the meals came reasonably quickly. A few meals were not quite as described, for example my meal advertised 'crushed potatoes' but it was mashed potato with a lot of mustard mixed through, and I wouldn't have ordered this if I knew as I hate mustard. The rest of the meal was nice though with melt in your mouth lamb.

My wife and I dined here on Saturday evening with a couple of friends before meeting a larger group in the main bar.

The dining room is spacious and welcoming, the menu seemed fairly priced and the staff were quite friendly, happy to share a laugh and a joke with us.

I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel which provided a generous serving, as did my wife's Cider Battered Flathead. Our friends also seemed happy with their Vegetarian Gnocci and Steak options.

There were no complaints with regards to the quality of the food and the drink prices weren't extortionist either.

When we joined the larger group in the main bar, it was a little less comfortable, primarily as the Super Rugby Grand Final was being televised so there was a significant number of Rugby fans in attendance. Once the game finished and the crowd thinned out it was quite a pleasant atmosphere.

There was also a small band that was playing in the bar a bit later which was quite nice, though it did make conversation a bit of a challenge at times.

Nice pub which has been modernised a few years ago, in the heart of Battery Point.
Their chicken with a vegetable stack is really nice.
Although parking can sometimes be a problem in Battery Point they do have a carpark out the back for guests.

This pub was renovated a few years ago and provides a nice atmosphere for lunch or dinner. The menu offers a good range of pub food at a reasonable price.

They have a carpark out the back for patrons, which is handy as it can often be quite difficult to park in Battery Point. You can access the carpark via a boomgate off Hampden Road.

Approximate cost: $20
