RACQ Insurance

I joined the racq in 2008 but have never insured with them as I've never found their prices competitive however have usuallyhad my ctp with them. A couple of years ago I had the misfortune of having a distracted driver in my street cross the centreline and crash into my trailer. She as it turns out was insured with the racq.
Early in the process I had a number of conversations with them about liability and provided them with photographic evidence showing that their insured crossed to the wrong side of the road causing the accident. Since then they will no longer speak with me and have decided to have a debit collection agency harrass me for the cosy of repairing their insured car.
Interestingly however I was contacted by a third party investigator, contracted by the racq, to help get them get out a third party compensation claim made against them by the woman driving the car that hit my trailer as my ctp was with them.
Talk about corporate greed!
I've provided then with photos or the crash site, offered to meet with them to walk them through the scene and evidence, to which they have declined each time. Interestingly though there investigator welcomed the opportunity and could clearly see what had happened.
What a disgraceful organisation.
I'm very disappointed, so much for being a member of Queensland's biggest club.

I found an insurer that I thought had an excellent reputation and would surely look out for its customers.
Having now submitted 3 not-at-fault claims with them I am extremely disappointed and feel severely let down. They seem to care only about seeking ways to not pay a claim, even when I have provided the at fault party's information on all 3 occasions. One claim was approved and then rejected a full month later. All 3 claims resulted in having to submit a formal complaint and go through the process of explaining the situation several times rather than fighting for their customers. I'm being completely honest here and just feel like their reputation has failed them. A warning to anyone else considering using RACQ.

Maybe a little dearer than most other roadside assists but very good service when needed, and they came well recommend .

used RACQ on the sunshine coast when i was living there, the staff were very friendly when i first went in to hook everything, as i was 17 at the time they explained everything in detail for me and i understood them, they didnt talk to me like i was a child as most places do, would def reccommend them to anyone

convient to general shopping inside beenleigh plazer makes it great , all the insurance needs in one spot

Have had great dealings with them. I use them for my insurances and roadside assistance. Been with them since I first purchased my car. Still own the car and still with them.

My car battery died - all I had to do was call RACQ. Wouldn't be without them, would you?
Seriously, don't skimp on the RACQ insurance. They are helpful and quick.

The on road service is fantastic, the guys are great & quick helpful etc, The insurence side of things are terrible no help rude, They did not help me at all in acciedent i believed was not my fault hit me from behind, as i only had third party as the car was not worth much, they did not want to help me with the other company..... I was gobsmacked by the service & how they delt with me & my husband in the process, now have the at the abudsome for advice as racv couldn't help me any further they said, Its been a very long process & been going for months, i have left now to go back to my original insurence company, I tought after 20 years id try another biggest mistake eva.

i love racq their prices are great considering I'm on my p plates i love the little discount coupon book they send out and all the staff i have dealt with are friendly and helpfull

I have nothing but great things to say for the complete package i paid 149.00 and have used them 5 times this year. From towes, locked keys and i even ran out of gas. Very friendly and fast to get there.

RACQ were very helpful and informative when discussing my car insurance. the staff were very helpful especially since it was my first car and all.

I have been with RACQ insurance for 5 years now and i have been highly impressed, i will continue to use they as i feel they respect me.

Generally on the more expensive end of the scale, especially compared to companies like youi, payd, budget etc, but I know that if I ever have to make a claim, I want the best, so I'm willing to pay for it. Fantastic phone service, great customer service.

Whenever I have dealt with the RACQ Branch at Maroochydore, the staff had always been very helpful, courteous and the deals and brochures they offer are very good. On the telephone the lady there always explains when and why she might be keeping you waiting and advises you of how long she might be away from the phone. Exceptional telephone service in this day and age.

I went in to RACQ to get my CTP. They were very helpful, explained things clearly and were extremely quick. I was putting it off as I thought it would be an enduring experience however it was definately the opposite.

a lot of my friends have insurance with racq and all the comments were extremely high so i had to check it out my self and i was able to ask a lot of questions that helped me make a decision

RACQ is incredible. They always have the friendliest consultants on the phone and the one time that I did break down I was expecting an hour wait and was prepared for it too. They gave me a priority because I was an alone female at night time and said because of that it would be approx. 40 minutes, but someone was out in 5 minutes! So friendly and great value for money.

I was at fault in an intersection collision in August 09. I rang RACV only once and not knowing the procedure was told not to do anything more and that " they would handle every aspect of my claim "and " that's what you pay insurance for". Once my car was repaired they rang me to see if I was happy & satisfied with the result. I didn't have to chase up or stress about anything. Highly recommended.

I love there FREE 2 GO for student and 17 year olds. It means i can have all the benefits if i need them for nothing. It's a great system to get young people using and choosing their business. They have never let me down always friendly and helpful

i used racq to lodge a claim after a storm damaged the annexe on my caravan. they were really understanding and helpful. they took the claim and advised me what to do next. they put my mind at ease.

Have been with RACQ for 7 years and any time i have needed to claim on an accident, there was no hesitation at all from the staff and the car was assessed promptly.
The price is also the cheapest i could get, which was great for me

I've been involved in several accidents since being insured with RACQ, and have found their service to be generally excellent. They're happy for you to go to your own repairer and on one occasion, actually sent me to the more expensive quote as he'd included items the other hadn't. Only once did I have a problem with them, and that was when I was involved in a three car rear-ender, with me the front vehicle. They initially tried to assert that because there were more than two cars involved, they wouldn't pay my claim in full, but when I insisted, explaining that as the front vehicle I couldn't be held responsible, they saw sense and paid out.

looking for insurance i found RACQ to be one of the best going around. not only are their policies cheaper than most but they also offer the best terms as well

Was really blown away when I moved up from NSW and got a comparison quote from RACQ for my car ... there was a saving of $180 on what my old insurer could offer me! So I decided to get a quote for my partner's car and I saved even more. Now we are transferring our home and contents insurance too.
