Great Japanese food! Tonkatsu ramen is really nice and $10 bento boxes are worth the price.
delicious ramen, and large portion size and fulfilling too, bento boxes have a variety to choose from
Tucked away at the back of the GPO building is a small Japanese eatery that specializes in noodles and bento.
When my brother first suggested this I thought okay, for $10 a bento box or noodles it seems like a real cheap way to enjoy Japanese.
I was surprised when we got there to find that the menu is quite extensive and tasty.
My brother had the gyoza ramen which seemed a little odd to me - sounded more like won-tons in soup, and I opted for the bento box with teriyaki chicken.
What I found was that the servings sizes for what you paid was generous and enough to fill us up and along with a side of Gyoza (6 pieces for $6.50) it made a very satisfying and tasty meal.
My bento box came with rice, salad, two gyozas and a serve of Chicken Teriyaki which was tasty and as mentioned for $10 you really couldn't go wrong. I ended up going back a few times to do takeaway and found the sukiyaki bento and chicken katsu bento also very good.
The menu represents great value for money in a place that is busy at lunchtimes but a little quieter at dinner with just the right amount of service and attention.
Approximate cost: $10
Bento box meals are good value. Came with miso soup and green tea with roasted rice in their special cups. I enjoy the taste of their food. Clean environment and friendly staff
I have been here a number of times, the ramen is always great. The takeaway bentos boxes are great value. There is always a good range of sake and drinks.
I love a good bowl of Ramen just as much as anyone however I didn't feel that this was the best ramen I've ever had. It left a rather unusal after taste (maybe it was the extra pork i ordered?) so I wasn't able to get through my entire bowl
Service was lovely friendly and helpful though so no complaints there
Great quality food, nice atmosphere, & the guy at the front who is always there provides great service, stoic with a smile :)
Approximate cost: $9
Thanks nice review, I'll have to check it out
Nice little ramen place, great for a quick lunch with my colleagues. My favorite is the cha su ramen. The broth is so tasty and full of flavours.
Really authentic Ramen. The quality of the ramen is probably one of the best within Melbourne CBD. The pork however was a bit on the 'fatty' side for my liking. For quality ramen you would expect it to be pricy but they only charge $10 a bowl! If you like it that much they also have a loyalty card...10th visit gets you a free bowl of ramen goodness.
Approximate cost: $10
Came here for Lunch with some friends from Work, come early and you can get a table. The Ramen is good, Cheap and in Big Serves. They have Gen Mai Cha green tea and Green Tea Icecream for Desert. The Decor is Kitsch Japanese Geisha and Squares of Origami Paper with Instructions for different animals is available while you wait. I would come here again
Approximate cost: $8.9
