My family have been here twice now and really enjoyed it. The last time we noticed the mains have become more generous in size. I shared some of my lamb with one of my sons. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive. If I was going to be really critical the only thing I would say was that the chocolate fondant pudding was a little over cooked and not gooey in the centre, but still very enjoyable. The decor is very pleasant too. We'll go back again. I've seen some really terrible review for this place on other sites but I can honestly say I can't understand why, unless it's intentionally misleading.

Wow incredible food great service and wonderful ambience. This restaurant moved to Sandgate a few years ago from shorncliffe and I thought it looked like it had lost its prestigious element as it looks more like cafe. Was invited there for dinner on Sunday and was wowed. The prices are a bit high but the food is exceptional so worth it. The house wine was wonderful and we have already booked next dinner there as well as daughters 21 st.

I recently went for a birthday dinner here and was very impressed. For a more upper class restaurant is wasn't excessively priced ($35-40 for a main) and the atmosphere was really lovely. The food was spot on - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! Service was great as the waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. Definitely worth a visit if you're happy to spend a little more than usual.

My partner and i went for dinner with friends, and i must say the food was to die for, the staff were friendly and it has a beautiful old romantic atmosphere. I would highly recommend giving them ago.

Truly, the best dining experience I ever had was at Raphael's. My husband and I went there for our Anniversary and it was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was superb and the atmosphere was lovely. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!

My hubby and I have been on a number of special occasions to this restaurant and think it's fabulous. The food is melt in your mouth stuff. You need to make a reservation in advance especially around Christmas as it's a very popular spot for small pvt dinner parties. It has a romantic feel to it and a lot of couples dine there. It is not suitable for children so it's a good time to let grandparents look after them so you can enjoy the ambiance of the place.
