This was by far the cheapest rental price after a few enquiries prior to arriving in Cairns recently. The car was just as described and was right ready to go when we arrived. Staff were very nice to deal with and helped with a few directions for our trip. Highly recommended. You can book online too - very easy process!

I attended a function here recently. The setting was quite nice. I was driving so I bought a premix drink so I knew the alcohol content - a bacardi breezer was $10.80!!! Crazy price considering there were beer varieties and other alcoholic drinks for much cheaper. Service was OK, nothing fantasic. The food I had was off a platter for the party and it was alright although the waitress wasn't very sure of what she was actually serving lol. All in all in was OK. Typical pub experience, nothing overly amazing.

It is a pretty small store but seems to have everything available. Service is generally quite good although there is one particular lady who is always a bit abrupt. The quality of cakes is always very good and up to the expected 'cheesecake shop' standard.

I recently had lunch at this cafe and was pretty impressed by it. Although I arrived about 12:30 and a fair few of the pre-made sandwiches/salads had gone (must have to beat the lunch time rush for those!) although they can make them fresh for you - not sure if that's extra though. The staff were very helpful, lots of tables to eat at, fast service. I bought a cajun chicken salad (pre-made, $8) which was very fresh and the lady plated it up for me since i was eating in. They also do hot food so there's a good variety. Definitely worth a try if you're a local looking for a good lunch.

I recently went for a birthday dinner here and was very impressed. For a more upper class restaurant is wasn't excessively priced ($35-40 for a main) and the atmosphere was really lovely. The food was spot on - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! Service was great as the waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. Definitely worth a visit if you're happy to spend a little more than usual.

Approximate cost: $40

I recently booked an overseas trip through FC Chermside and overall they were pretty good. I felt towards the end (for the little niggly bookings eg small flights, transfers etc) that the service level dropped off, but all in all a good experience. It might pay to ask the consultant where they have travelled because local knowledge is the best knowledge!! The lady that I got had not travelled through Europe and therefore was really quite limited with offering more specific advice.

I recently had brekkie at this cafe and it was sooo yummy!! We paid about $17 each for brekkie. There was so much on the plate that I was very full by the end of it but VERY happy with what I'd eaten! The mushrooms are amazing, eggs perfectly cooked. Prompt service even though it can get very busy.

Approximate cost: $15-20

I stayed here for 5 nights a few months back and it lived up to my expectations. We paid $100 a night which was very reasonable. It was a little walk (5-10mins?) from the main streets of Cairns but a stroll in the fresh air is great too. The rooms were very clean and all staff helpful. It was raining most of the time we were there (remind me not to go in their wet season again lol) and they had plenty of umbrellas to borrow which was really helpful. The pool is really lovely - a big lagoon style.

I've had my car to this mechanic a few times and each time they have been very reasonably priced and not out to rip a woman off! (always nice for us ladies! lol). They explain problems well and let you know in advance if something extra needs fixing. Definitely recommended. I know a few other people who go here too and they have good things to say.

After hearing many good reports on this place I finally got to try it yesterday. We decided to get takeaway as we had had a big day, otherwise it looked like a nice place to eat in - very authentic looking inside with plenty of tables, inside and out. We ordered a mixed entree pack, 2 curries, 1 stir fry and a large coconut rice which came to just over $50. This might sound like expensive takeaway but the servings were very generous and packed full. Beautiful curries - couldn't fault them. They do offer BYO - not sure about corkage though. Definitely worth a visit - and within walking distance to Carseldine train station (handy for the BYO part!)
