A good restaurant in Knox ozone, which is handy if you are planning to catch a movie. I found the food to be ok but not wonderful. The steamed vegies which I had along with chicken were overcooked and tasteless.

I dined here a week ago with my husband and two young children for the first time and we had a really lovely evening. The friendly staff helped me select meals for the children recommending the kids cheese burger and chips and an entrée sized calamari. They both ate everything! I thoroughly enjoyed the Veal Scaloppini. It was nice to have a decent sized serving of steamed vegies and fresh mash potato with it too. My husband said the Fisherman's Plate was the best he had in years! We have friends from interstate visiting soon and plan to take them to Red Salmon for a nice meal.

I have been to this restaurant quite often at lunchtime. The quality is consistent and dining is pleasant but not exceptional. You can get a good all day breakfast if you are in to eggs and bacon and that is good value. It is a bit more pricey than some of the others nearby for lunch.

My husband & I ate here after a movie a few weeks ago & we were pleasantly surprised. The meals were very good. The cripsy duck roll entree was fantastic, but the scallops weren't great. However the mains were realy good: my lamb shanks were cooked to perfection. Hubby had a steak & it was cooked exactly as we'd asked - rare. The only down-side was that we were seated outside & it was freezing & I'd just got over a nasty virus. We could see a few empty tables inside & althought we were told that they were booked, no-one came for them the whole time we were there...1 & 1/2 hours.

Overpriced for low quality food. My porterhouse was overdone for what I ordered (medium rare) and very stringy. It came with the sort of 'salad' I'd expect at a hospital cafeteria - iceberg lettuce, grated carrot, tomato ends (yuck) in a clearly bulk pre prepared salad dressing. They look pricey and charge like a city restaurant but food and service just don't match it. Gordon Ramsey would hate this place, a classic case of trying to do many things badly with a mixed menu of Indian, mod oz, Asian etc.

Personally I find Red Salmon quite pricey for what you get. A small main course for around $20. When you can go elsewhere and get a really interesting meal with large portions for half the price, I wouldn't bother coming back. I've been there twice with friends, we also shared some dips and had the same problem - three dips instead of four with a sticky balsamic vinegar counted as one. I ordered a hot chocolate and it came out almost room temperature, I wasn't too happy about that but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to wait 5 minutes for another one (the service was slowish because it was at a busy time).

This rating shouldn't be used as an overall guage of Red Salmon, because we didn't spend much time there, however it does serve to illustrate that you can't afford to have poor value food on the menu.

We visited Red Salmon last weekend for a quick bite to eat. The place looks pretty nice and there is an extensive menu. As we just wanted a snack my wife and I shared the dips - warm turkish bread with four dips. Well on the menu it said four dips, but one of them was balsamic vinegar in a clear tasteless oil - I have never had oil like it before and I couldn't work it out what it was at all. But I didn't like it and I didn't like receiving it when I really wanted and was paying for dips. But the bread was good and the 3 dips were also OK.

I didn't complain about the dips to the staff, I just sat there and ate my 3 dips, knowing I'd write it up on WOMOW!

Food was great although the serving sizes were a bit small. They facilitated an early dinner/late lunch. Not a cheap eat, but the staff were nice and service was quick. I can recommend the risotto and the salmon!
