This lovely relaxing place is based on a traditional Japanese experience. On arrival you remove your shoes and put on a pair of slippers. The rooms have tatami matting on the floor and rice paper screens leading to a private little garden with a water feature. Lovely food and tranquil Japanese music in the background. When we went it was just our friends and one other couple- very quiet. I would recommend the relaxation massage- lovely lady who had 15 years experience. Only negative was the cost- a bit high.

The food in this cosy little bar was innovative and good but the prices were very high and the serving size tiny. The cheese platter ,which we shared between 4 of us, was miniscule and cost $25. The entrees were lovely but you needed a microscope to spot them and at around $17 each, not cheap. My friend ordered the barramundi for mains and it was so small he worked out it cost about $800 per kilo ( being a mathematician). Does 3 mouthfuls comprise a serve? I don't think so.

We have been to the Sunday jazz brunch a couple of times. It is a fantastic smorgasbord, lots of seafood and lovely desserts if you leave enough room! As much champagne, red and white wine as you want too, all inclusive

We have given this a 'go' on several occasions because it is such a beautiful setting and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately the food and service do not live up to the standard of the nursery and surrounds. The food is very ordinary, often over cooked or , worse, raw ( in the case of lamb kebabs, tough as old shoes). Prices are pretty high for what you get and the waitresses can be described as surly if you are being kind! They are not child friendly, either and there is a long wait to be served even basic food. Visit the nursery, it is lovely, but give the caff a miss and eat down the road at one of the other places warrandyte is known for.

What a pleasant surprise this restaurant is. It looks very ordinary outside and the decor isn't too good but the food is divine. We tried lots of different dishes between us and every one came up trumps- including the desserts.

Open Sundays and Mondays. Great for plants and small antique bric-a-brac. It has become very small, however and half its previous size. It has an auction on a Sunday where they more or less give stuff away

No communication, cancellations without notice and a load of yobs on board. Not a pleasant experience at all so its back to Jetstar for us. Only good thing was the price.

Understated restaurant with beautiful food. Need to BYO. Fixed price menu- $50 for 2 courses ,extra $15 for crayfish. On the outside the place looks pretty ordinary but nice inside and good service and atmosphere. They only book in the number they can cope with apparently so it doesn't appear very full at any one time.

I really tried to like this place because everyone else seems to. I don't like the food or the service. Stodgy pasta with very little flavour, noisy and no atmosphere whatsoever.

Yum Cha is good at the Golden Pebble. Lovely eggplant dishes and lots of scallops and pork buns.. Chicken pies are great too. Some of the stuff is a bit biological but can be avoided. The egg tarts are light and crumbly and the melon tarts are good too. You tend to eat more than you intended so skip breakfast!

Approximate cost: $12 - $15
