On arrival at this club, you will be impressed by the surrounds and sophisticated atmosphere. However, once you settle down and the initial 'aura' passes, it is possible you that you may be disappointed by the slightly untrained service levels. This is evident in the table service, menu offerings, bathroom tidiness etc.
However, it is also possible that you may not notice these small details.

I took my partner here on a Friday evening to see the Connie Lansberg Quartet perform. Not having been able to find a lot of reviews on either the club or Connie I was a little concerned as I wanted the night to be something special, though the moment we stepped into the club I knew there was nothing to worry about!

The club itself is beautiful... Very classy, stunning decor, furniture and lighting, all perfect for a romantic evening... This is a place that is of a high standard... Not one that pretends to be. The layout of the room was great with a very intimate yet spacious feel. There were a number of low tables with three comfy leather single lounges each in front of the quartet (where we were seated), a few couches / tables further back for larger groups, and then proper dining tables set further back again. All had clear views and plenty of personal space, perfect for romantic conversation whilst still being in the heart of it all, so to speak.

Connies performance was wonderful, and was exactly what i was hoping for... Classy, fresh in interpretation, yet classic in the sound and feel. She holds the space with complete confidence and is present with the audience... Not something experienced all that often these days.

The food and drinks were great too... We had a few share plates as my partner doesnt eat meat and there wasnt much in the way of suitable mains, however as it worked out the smaller share plates were better for the lower seating anyway. The arancini balls were great, and the prawn entree was sublime. A few cocktails and cognacs to wash it all down, a little dancing, and we were well into the flow of it all!

The place seemed a touch understaffed, hence the 4 star for service, but other than that the venue and performance made for an incredible and memorable evening for us both.

Dont let the tacky Bourke st arcade entrance fool you if you walk past this place... This is truly a hidden gem.

Approximate cost: $135

Came here for high tea through a voucher deal eg. Scoopon, a friend had organised. The service by all was just excellent. They even offered to charge my phone for me, as my phone battery died and we needed to find out whether my friends had already arrived.

The high tea was not a buffet, and I am not sure how other high teas are, because the only other one I have been to, was a buffet style with food that gets replenished. Even so, I think that there could have been more sandwiches, as we only got one small triangle of a sandwich. Otherwise the rest of the sweets were very nice.
They have a vegetarian option too. The actual surroundings are very nice, warm and elegant, with piano music playing in the background. You can tell the venue is quite new. While visiting the bathrooms, I caught a glimpse of some of the other rooms in this spa complex. It sparked my interest to come and visit for some pampering, as the rooms looked divinely luxurious!
