Everything looks wonderful the decor is lovely but that is where it ends...there is obviously a huge staff shortage that left my 89 yr old parent continually left for hours in a wheelchair in their room with no access to buzzer, water, phone, reading glasses, tv remote. My parent is unable to stand, walk or re-position themselves, this became very frustrating and caused me much anxiety. [Redacted due to mentioning name] at this facility refused to listen to complaints. Language barrier with staff often encountered and Nurses quite rude at times. My Mums room stank all the time and [Redacted due to mentioning name] never available to talk to about my issues. Try somewhere else first. Ver Very expensive for what the facility offers.

I was considering putting my aunty there but decided against it. I found the PCA Staff to be extremely rude, many of them spoke very poor english and treat the residents like children. The Management are arrogant with staff, fawning to residents families and are prepared to sell out any staff member to keep the money flowing. Much ado is made of the resident lounges and other facilities but behind the scenes the rooms are seldom kept clean by staff and the bathrooms are always dirty, with dirty w/c's and overflowing bins. The food although adequate is hardly of a gormet standard Regis promotes it to be. And food hygeine and preparation is very poor, with ice cream left to melt and food kept under heatlamps or just sitting on the benches for longer than desirable. Same with the rooms, they are NOT of 5 star standard, more like that of a very average suburban motel. Big thumbs down, you can do better in a cheaper facility

Unfortunately, after taking a long time to decide on an aged care facility my family decided finally to place my grandma at McKinley House Regis in armadade. Afet 5 months we shared the same experience that Brien did above. The staff were kind of pleasant but usually very very stressed and overworked. We found that the staff tried hard but it was very difficult at times to communicate because of the language barriers. Most staff are of Asian origin, hey mean well but it was really hard to get our concerns across and listened to properly and understood. We made several appointments to see the facility manager but she was never available accept once and only then she could see my us for 10 minutes. Food not bad but quality of Personal Care is limited because of language barrier between ethnic staff and residents, try another facility first. Blue Cross is great, that's where gran is now. She seems much happier and relaxed.

This facility is only 3 years old. It is modern and beautifully appointed. Being almost on the corner of Glenferrie Road it is also close to a great shopping and cafe precinct. The decor is particularly modern being in beige and browns. All the furniture is that modern chocolate brown colour so popular at the moment. This, unfortunately, was a negative for my step-father as he found it dark, cold and impersonal. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful and I understand that friends have relatives here who are very happy but the modern look is not for everyone. Facilities overall seemed excellent.
